Having an 6 year old leatt GPX carbon brace and looking for an upgrade, is the new leatt or atlas the best one nowadays?

I'd say the Atlas now.

Had a Leatt, now have Atlas. Like Atlas more. both are very good though and it comes down to personal preference. Try them on is my recommendation.

I like my atlas. I don't even know it's there.

Leatt has a wider strike plate and grips the helmet better on impact. Atlas has a slippery surface and the back is more flexible which can cause the brace to act as a lever on your neck instead of minimizing the stretch and protecting your neck.

Much like a helmet you need to try them on to see how they fit on your. The new Leatt sat on my chest poorly, I ended up with the Atlas and love it. Do yourself a favor and find a dealer that has them, bring your helmet with you and try them on.

I currently wear a 5.5. Leatt brace... very comfortable and don't even notice it on. plenty of adjustability. They have come a long way since the adventure days like what OP has. They learned from previous models to make the newest one the best yet in my eyes. From what i hear they have biomedical engineers on staff that design this stuff. The science leatt uses to create their stuff is enough for me to be believer.

Just saw they came out with a $249 price point brace that is equally as impressive that I may be getting my dad into on his occasional rides.

You can get an atlas for 60% off right now. I would go that direction.

You will never know the difference between the carbon and the Air

The carbon would be a waste of 200+ dollars

Haven't seen that on their webpage, where have you found the best pricing?

Atlas. Try them both on and see why for yourself.

Ten grams is .022 pounds, I couldn’t justify an extra $200 to save so little weight.
