My point? besides the team result, everyone wanted to see the who was the fastest between the 2 champs Tomac & Herlings lets be honest.

Once all the bitter people like yourself realized it was a no brainer, they all of a sudden like to look for any flaw to try and knock Herlings performance (see your post above)

Herlings would lose no sleep at all over being beat by Coldenhoff, just like he would have lost no sleep over being beaten by Anstie last year, because at the end of the day everyone knows he is the fastest motocross rider in the world

Everyone? I couldn’t care less about the Tomac v Herlings debate. The MXoN is a team race. I wanted USA to win and they got smoked. You want to use this one race to prove Herlings is faster yet you say that BS when its pointed out that Coldenhoff beat your boy straight up. MXoN is an awesome event but it does nothing to prove who is faster. You can’t have it both way Stoops my man!

Everyone talks about results, but watching footage (and seeing a couple of GP's live) Herlings' speed and creativity is insane. I haven't seen Tomac live so it's hard to compare, but Herlings' corner speed, the way he makes passes and his ability to choose creative lines and change them at the last second is better than anything I've seen.

I think if he raced a season in the US it would be a pretty even matchup with Tomac, but I think he definitely has his nose in front. And if he trained for SX every week, I'm sure he'd adapt.

I wish we could have a true World Championship series with all the best riders (none of this US vs Europe rubbish), but the powers that be on both sides of the pond will probably never let that happen.

Anyway, how bout them Aussies?

Dude, Coldenhoff was his teammate and an excellent sand/mudracer. Was absolutely no need to attack (or protect) him cause together they put 3rd man Paulin on a minute. Coldenhoff rode the race of his life. Besides the MX1 GP in Latvia a few years ago I haven't seen Glenn this good in his whole career.

Btw more than 70 seconds behind them Tomac got his ass waxed by Lupino, the #13 of the world championship :-)

If you’re saying that the conditions have to be perfect (or at least ‘right’) for Tomac to be on top, then you’ve answered your own question really haven’t you. You can’t be the best / fastest and also be a total fusspot as to what surfaces you perform on. Regardless of track type, SX prep etc, if you’re meant to be world class, you should at least be able to push to the front past these other guys, especially the MX2 boys.

Tomac choked on the world stage and rode badly, it’s that simple.

All the Americans got waxed straight up, no doubt. The point being IF you're going to use this one race as a barometer as to who is FMOTP, then you have to give that honor to Coldenhoff. If it showed Herlings is faster than Tomac, which by the way I think he is, then you have to say Coldenhoff is faster than Herlings. We won't ever say that because we know he isn't based off the body of work in the GP series. Thus. The point! It's ONE race and as you try to valadate, it's a TEAM race. Sure we can bench race until we're blue in the face but we will never know who the better rider is based off the reality that they will never face each other in a full series. On this day Herlings was much better than all the Americans as were many other GP riders. Coldenhoff was better than ALL, Herlings included.

Well fans deserve it, there is something in the water or something over there to warrant the posts or stupidity coming from American fans, there's one thing being patriotic but there's other just being flat out ignorant.

American fans talk so much shit on a rider who they haven't even seen ride, because if they actually watched him ride they would come to realization the American riders would have nothing for Herlings or the other euro riders.

I'm a fan of dead set champion riders, my favorite rider ever is JS, also massive fans of RC and RV, I can tell you those 3 riders in their prime would beat the current AMA field that's how weak the current AMA riders are.

If you're a big fan of racing watch both series.

The point is that Herlings clearly is the best rider in MXGP this year, winning 17 of the 19 GP's he raced. Since the best US and AMA riders didnt have shit for the GP riders this weekend the conclusion is that this year the level was higher in mxgp, and with him being the king of MXGP he can be the FMOTP for outdoors in 2018. Coldenhoff finishing ahead of Herlings in 1 of 50+ motos they raced together this year doesnt make Coldenhoff the FMOTP. But you knew that yourself as well.
