Do you even watch motocross?

Don't tell me RC didn't have the competition.

That had to be the most ignorant comment I will read all year...

i used to be one of the biggest haters of this dude, but you know what, he is doing things that i never thought possible. i will go ahead and say he's the best motocross racer right now by a long shot. Eli is in beast mode right now, but i feel like Joffrey would hand him his ass. only time will tell, but i wish we could see them slug out a full season injury free.
ahhhhhhhhhhh i think its hilarious when people say this stuff....

But MARVIN MUSQUIN was FASTER than Herlings @ ironman 2017. Musqin set the fastest lap of ANYONE between both motos... almost a second faster than herlings.

Musquin 2:07.7
Herlings 2:08.3

Look it up, numbers dont lie.

You people are seriously in lala land when you say herlings cleaned house at ironman.... yes he WON both motos... but again, musquin chased him down and set the fastest lap while doing it.... but obviously is not in as good of shape as herlings is because musquin dropped off the pace late in the moto..... but as far as raw speed? musqin was the fastest... lap times don't lie.

So if musquin is faster than herlings... and tomac is faster than musqin... well then..

But anyways... 2018..... Tomac has set lap times in a handful of motos at a handful of DIFFERENT tracks that were anywhere from 2-4 seconds FASTER than the next fastest guy (either musquin or roczen)

So you're telling me that Herlings would hand tomac his ass? Really? So herlings must be 5-6 seconds a lap faster than musqin??? on average?? NO. JUST NO.

Musquin already proved to be capable of setting faster lap times than herlings..... Theres no fucking way herlings is going to hand 2018 tomac his ass.. not. a. fucking. chance..

I say on any given day that either rider is capable of beating the other.... there are going to be races where herlings will beat tomac... and races where tomac will beat herlings. end of story. neither rider is significantly better than the other.... I say 50/50 chance of either of them winning.

MXGP is by far a tougher series to compete in. USA riders would have a difficult time, and generally do, for awhile. Logistics and language in the USA is so easy compared to MXGP Series.
Thats interesting. Then why is it that when GP champions come over to the US they dont clean house???

Roczen, musquin..etc.. theres many more to be named but i think you get the point.... and yes some of them have won races.. and some have eventually won championships..... but not before racing several years to get to that point....

the GP series is clearly not a tougher series to compete it.... maybe tougher for someone coming from something totally different.... It may be tougher for an OUTSIDER to come into and perform just as well as their home series.....but the SAME EXACT is to be said about GP riders coming to the US.... and thats been proven time and time again.. year after year.

Its really goddamn annoying with the constant bickering and arguing on whos faster, or which series is tougher... its all horse shit..... the answer is NEITHER.

Both the GP's and AMA series riders are at the very top of the sport.... neither is tougher, or faster than the other... Both have top riders that are capable of beating the other on any given day.

Except Herlings was fastest qualifier in both practice sessions that day. Oh and in Moto 2 he was listed in 22nd place after lap one and Musquin was in 1st after lap one. Herlings blitzed 21 riders to win the moto.

Look it up, numbers dont lie.

You are seriously in lala land if you don't think Herlings can give Tomac all he can handle. Who's faster? I don't know. But it wouldn't surprise me to see Herlings go 1-1 at des nations.

Lol, are you being serious? RC went 24-0 against a prime Windham and Reed, that's incredible no matter how you look at it. And for the most part, he regularly handed Stewart his ass outdoors. You think Herlings is that much faster than Bubba? Because I don't.

Herlings was in the 250 class for SEVEN years and he won 3 titles. RC was in that class 3 years and he won 3 titles. I know Herlings has had way more injuries but that's part of the game. RC was in better physical shape than everyone and he rarely got banged up.
You forgetting herlings crashed out of 2 of them seasons with big pointslead. Would have had 5 without injuries. Ppl can talk about rc how much they want but there are racers out there with more titles and there are dudes now who is faster than he ever was. Even he himself admitted that gajser (last year) is faster that he ever was. Perfect season or not who cares.

Retarded?. Why would you leave a world championship to go race a national championship and if u dont wanna race sx why would you switch a +20rd series with all kinds of different tracks all over the world to do a 11rd series where at least 33 ppl wouldnt even be top 20 in the gp's besides maybe comfort and lazyness!?.

I don't engage in these pointless arguments but you think our 7th place rider wouldn't be top 20 in the GP's? Thanks for the laugh.

Im not here to beat the dead horse, just currious why qualifying is brought up in any of these debates? Are the qualifying races worth something extra on the gp scene that im not aware of??

I don't understand why Tomac fans (which I am) get upset when people say Herlings is better. Shouldnt he be?

I think its a compliment to Tomac that he is compared to someone who is as dominant in motocross as Herlings, especially when he only has to focus on mx for 4 months (ish) out of the year.

This is nonsense. I can post times that say Musquin is faster than Tomac. This year and last. It doesn’t tell us anything about the next race.

This is really lame cherry picking.

Let the guys race.

If you took a slow-mo snapshot nearly anywhere on a course, you would see professionals doing impressive stuff like this, even though it's not all that impressive. He hopped through a berm. Big deal. Watch Herlings navigate a series of rollers or watch his corner speed in full speed if you want to see something impressive.

I predict Herlings will beat Tomac at MxDN.
