what was the difference between the PR6 and PR50? Bigger engine?
Remember these to a degree as we had the main importer only down the road. Did not realise though that they were so expensive and only 100 made! Also 14hp must have been a rocket for the time. 36 carb on a 50cc- crazy!!
haha- Dado made me laugh when he said 'Zero bottom end and may God help the poor kid when the thing lit up'..!! Probably best that maybe only the quicker kids had them!
Also remember a 100cc Italjet around this time, or slightly later. Again some of the quick kids had them seem to recall.
but the rear suspension on the Pr50 is a monoshock and the Pr6 has two shocks as you can see on my pictures
A year or so later they also made an Pr6 80cc with the minarelli p6 engine
For that machine i already have the frame , swingarm , shocks and gas tank so who knows in a couple of years i can start building
What so the PR6 had two shocks set up in cantilever type fashion, kind of offset slightly from each other? Again, how trick for the time.
I must dig out some of my old pics and stuff- had a few bits on some of the Italjets around that time- what with having the importer down the road, always sort of interested me. Such cool and rare bikes from a time gone!
Goodluck with the restores and post more pics if you can of these super little bikes and your restores.
Any info is welcome
I’m using a different name now but I posted a picture of my Italjet pr50 under the name lee moto man.
I am selling the bike now and wondered if you were still interested in buying one
Let me know
Cheers
Lee
