I read in one of the red rock rocket threads about using a PWK carb on the bike. Looking on EBay for one, I came across several of these “New, $45 PWK carbs”. There are differences on the exterior. I experienced several times in life, “You get what you pay for.....” and “If it seems to good to be true.....:

Just wondered if anyone has any experience with cheap new PWK carbs on eBay?

I picked one up because I just had to see and they appear to be very nice copies. You can't hardly tell it from the real thing and Keihin jets fit it. They don't actually say Keihin on them like in the latter pictures.

Haven't actually ran it, but I don't see any reason they shouldn't work.

I’d be worried about bad plating, stuck slides etc.

l bought a Chinese PWK40 for my CR500, it was only $65, The needle had no markings but by measuring it l determined what it was, l changed to a needle, Main & pilot that l thought l'd need, it works great. :-)

Hard to believe there getting away with using Keihin and Sudco logos on them. I have one on an xr80. There for sure get what you pay for. The bike does run OK for a kids play bike but the quality is not there. Tolerances are not great, fit and finish.

The only thing between you and a CR500 with a stuck throttle is a $65 chinese Keihin knockoff? You like to live dangerously! I salute your cheapness sir!
