A local dealer stepped up and lent a stock pipe. Bike was dyno'd and sound tested using the said illegal pipe. It passed the sound tests administered by the builder/tuner.

Kidd and company did not even have a meter of any sort on the grounds. The bike ran like shit with the stock pipe. Rider pleaded for a sound test, but Kidd's final words were, "It's a non-issue".

I do not care what Mike's accomplishments are /were as a racer, promoter, etc., that doe's not make his word or judgement the gospel. He owes an apology at the very least,(which the rider did not receive).

If this is the way he intends to promote the future of flat track, Lord help us all.
Project Racer: A local dealer stepped up and lent a stock pipe. Bike was dyno'd and sound tested using the said illegal pipe. It passed the sound tests administered by the builder/tuner. MK: Are you 100% sure about this?

I want to see how accurate you believe your statements are before I comment.

Right you are , sir. He is well aware of the situation, doubt you will hear a reply. Would'nt discuss it on the 5th, I'd say it's even more of a "non issue" now.

I know that said pipe was not on the bike come qualifing. And it was not even a 450 pipe that was lent to Devin. Why was the pipe in question not tested by your staff, if indeed you did have the equiptment on hand to do so? The builder tested it, why did'nt you?

I congratulate you on your change of heart if you indeed contacted Devin. You did not have much contact with him at the said event. I only hope an apology was included in the discussion.

Answer me this ; If Carr had that pipe on his bike ,would things have been different for him? If the testing equiptment was there, would you have tested him? I am almost certain he would have demanded a test. Or would you have let him slide?

Bring back those Miles California use to have. Been like 10 yrs or so since we've had a National here.

What are realistic prospects that a AMA Pro Dirt Track race will return to California?

There are lots of Mile tracks sitting doing nothing; Stockton, Vallejo, Santa Rosa to name a few that haven't gotten their dirt changed to the artificial type for horse racing as the State mandated a few yrs ago.

Be nice to see National Dirt Track racing again; especially the Miles.

Reference #1 - You are wrong. Devin ran the exhaust all day Wednesday and did not qualify. We were not questioning the sound, it was the muffler we had concern about. There are photos of the exhaust all over the internet. Compare that muffler to an FMF, Pro Circuit, etc., which we all see everyday at the race track and see if you wouldn't have had the same concerns. BTW, the exhaust was loud. While promoting AX I worked with all the teams in ways to reduce the sound indoors. I do have a lot of background in sound testing.

Reference #2 - My change of heart had nothing to do with me contacting Devin. I explained if any official makes a wrong call or decision, the AMA Pro Flat Track rule book has ways for the rider to plead his case, such as an appeal. Since Devin was DQ'd, this was not an issue. I also told Devin in the future if he does not understand the rules to ask me questions and I will try to assist him. It is not mine or the AMA to run off riders. However it is the responsiblity of the rider to know the rules.

Reference #3 - It would have been no different for Carr. Look.... over the years I have had to make crucial decision based on rules while at AX. There were times when I had to walk over to Demuth, Antunez, Lange and disqualify for double jumping under the red cross flag. I have "never" made decisions based on who a rider is. Back to Daytona and the rules, I am not an official. I cannot disqualify anyone. I have a referee and tech guys to make those decisions.

I hope this helps you understand more of what really happened. I have left you several message to call me so I can explain, however you have not.

Flat Track has a bright future with or without your support. I feel our two opening nights at Daytona showed progress. I wish the exhaust ordeal had not happened, now I will not let it tear this series down.

Yeah I remember that. Prissy lil assholes won't ride unless it's smooth as butter.
Anyway, I would like to see flat track return and be as popular as it once was.
Drinking beer and watching flat track, good times.

We have taken several chapters from AX, SX and placed them flat track. We have new classes, format and more. Here is just a few of the improvement;

1. Added a Pro class with riders racing at all the short tracks, TT, Half Mile and Miles on production based 450cc bikes. Similar to the Lites class. These riders will be racing for a National Championship Title.

2. Reduced the Expert Heats to only 3. This has stacked the heats with three rows of riders.

3. Dash - Remember the AX Dash For Cash! 6 Expert riders line up and go at it for four laps...and these guys are hungry...race hard.

4. O'Yea... We have two beautiful Trophy Girls shooting our T-Shirt cannon.

5. Added recorded music intro for several of our top riders.

6. Every heat, semi, dash and main is introduced with recorded music and sponsor.

7. Improved our Victory Podium with the winners bike placed on the podium and the top 3 riders.

8. Same two announcers traveling the entire series so they know the format, point standings, get to know the riders habits....another words relate the whole story to our fans.

9. Most important, shortened the program for 3-4 hours down to 2:30 hours.

More later,
MK

All good news..........shortened program is smart.
Hit em hard and fast....then send the fans home saying WOW.

The dash will bring out the best(or worst) in some riders....very cool.

Avoid the errors we made in Supermoto.

Who is announcing ???

I can't wait to see more.

Gee, hope Mike is OK...
I am sure he is just fine.

You must not be though or you would let it rest on here.

Just call him and stop the bashing on here.
