that’s a good question. they came in the extra parts bin when i bought the bike. i’m sure you can find them on ebay or call renthal directly if they are not available on the several mx parts websites.

Did you have them made strictly for the plastics to bolt up from the newer CRF's or are you planning on using a different set of forks?

Ill bet these newer "A-Kit" replica style forks that came on the 2018 CRF450's would be sooooo sweet to run on these last gen CR 2 strokes.

I for one would really like to know the upper tube outer diameters as compared to the 47mm showa twin chamber spring forks that were used from 1997/1998- up ....with the last real generation being on the 2002-2008 CR/CRF's

LOVE THIS! i miss my cr250 after seeing this.

for the pipe, take a few hours with a scuff pad, i wanted that factory sheen on my yz250 pc works pipe, took alot of hours but i was very happy with how it turned out.

shhhhhhhh ? Honda of Houston had a killer sale on pirellis that i couldn’t pass up. i already have Dunlop’s on there now

Sorry i'm not the best vitard lol, just seeing this. I like the Keihin, lately I have been having RC Valve troubles and found a few threads that tell me to replace the motor so ill see if that helps. I can't say that the Keihin is worlds better than the Mikuni because I put .5 hours on the Mikuni before I replaced it, but the way everyone talks it is the bees knees for this bike.


I suggest getting the Keihin 38 PWK Short Body from JD Jetting so you get the needles and jets. Also, make sure you order a 2000-2001 CR250 Throttle Cable to give you a little extra cable to work with the Keihin. It was a breeze to jet for VP T2 but I started having RC Valve troubles when I switched to pump/Av gas 50/50 so I haven't seen whether its the be all end all for jetting issues.

Great effort and a no nonsense way to show your build. I actually was humored by several of your posts. Funny stuff.

Why the short body over a standard PWK?
I will be replacing my carb on a 95 CR 250 to the 2000 PWK series. Those carbs go for around $200. If the few extra dollars are worth buying from JD then I will. Its about $70 more for the short body. Just trying to get a sense how the short body translates.

Just more room?

I was told that on the 3rd gen CR’s you can run the long body, but the fit will be really tight. i believe they said the bowl touches the cases. i have plenty of room with my short body. with that being said, i’m fairly positive that the 95 will have plenty of room for the long body, but don’t quote me on that as i’ve never built one.

i would buy whichever you choose from JD because it comes with 2 really good needles and lots of main jets so you can really fine tune your machine. you can also contact them and he will give you a good baseline spec for your specific model, that’s what i did and we threw it on the dyno and tried everything but ended up only going one jet leaner on the main.
