Personally I never “cheap out” on the front tire. It is almost always a Michelin.
The compound lasts well, lots of mud here on the east coast. A good front tire is a safety issue, saves broken bones.

Rear, usually Dunlop, but I have used Kenda’s when my funds are a little tighter.

Best thing I ever did for my 525 EXC is put together a second wheel set. Took a while but love it.

I can see that being a benefit to any bike. And I have less “fun” changing tires.

I’m not a factory mechanic so switching them out takes 5 minutes.

Great hints in this thread.

Sedona MX 907HP for rocky terrain. Use it with a tubless system.

The tread pattern is funky.. but works extremely well in rocks. Like really well. Cheap too. Run 5-8 PSI.
I was shocked how well it worked in the rocks.

I ran Artrax on my Craig’s list 125 and they are literal 756 copies. I thought it worked fantastic. Legit stuck like Velcro. Did wear out a touch easily.

I will add to the Sedona votes. If you are doing rocky single track it hooks up awesome and lasts and lasts. Great bang for th buck.

I went with the Metzeler MC360 mid hard. I liked the look and the reviews were positive. I think I'll try the Sedona next.

Another vote for Sedona 907. I bought it for a 17 FX350 that I street legaled because it "looks" street legal even though it's not. I was shocked at how well it hooks up in the woods and the track. Wear is WAY better than the Dunlop I just got 20 hours out of.

I am curious as well. 756s were the greatest.

I am currently running Artrax SE3's on my bike for moto. I have raced two race days and a practice day and it still has the little rubber hairs on the knobs. For as cheap as they are they are hooking up great. I am very suprised with how well they are working.

I've ran Michelin, Dunlop, Bridgestone, Cheng Shin, Kenda, Atrax, and Shinko. My last 3 sets have been Atrax, for the price they are great practice tires. I'm really wanting to try one of the cheaters though, loved the D803 for trail riding.

I’ve currently got an X30 front and X40 rear set...the 40 works great on firmer soil but floats on the soft stuff, the 30 feels good everywhere in my opinion. They seem to be lasting longer than a comparable Dunlop set.

Shinko 525 Regular or Cheater. Great tires, even better price. Excellent value.

Yes. I've run them for both moto and offroad. I prefer Michelin Starcross 5's for moto, but I was still satisfied with the performance of the Shinko for moto. Offroad? Excellent tire!

+1 on the Shinko's. I walked into my local shop and asked what the cheapest rear they had. It was a Shinko 520, I've been very happy with it. Great straight line traction and very good cornering traction.
My new Pirelli came in but I haven't felt the need to swap it out.

These tires will be on a moto track a little but not much. My first ride on them will likely be a hare scramble this coming weekend
