Track does seem to have a few different options that work. Reed has an interesting line through one of the rhythms. Whoops look brutal!

That's the same line Plessinger was trying in Q2 the entire time they showed him on camera, but he was stuck back in the pack of times at that point. He eventually ran that 2nd quickest time off camera toward the end of the session, so can't say for sure what he did, but it seemed to me that doubling into that 1st section from the inside was a good bit slower - meaning, AP changed up his line through there for his best lap after finally realizing his double-in line didn't work.

This track is dusty, rough and hot/sunny. This is more of a national style SX than Daytona this year. Grinning

Ya' see what I'm saying? We just saw 3 different rhythms possible. The main one, the one Reed and Tomac were doing and then the double triple triple Tomac did on the last lap. Don't think you can ask for much more out of a section.

The camera work is annoying. Zoom and zoom some more, pan, show one rider at a time.
The GPs shoot primarily from out side of corners showing racing in and out of the turn. The camera work is much less busy, and you see racing. (Yes, I know SX is different)

There's that line's timing (S2 starts at holeshot, ends at start of 1st whoop section). Was quickest in this heat, but I'm still not convinced it's the 1-lap/quali line...but it very well may be the best in-race line just because so few others are taking it. Going to be something fun to watch for...and something that any competent broadcast focused on racing tactics would be discussing. Hopefully they do before the mains.

We can only hope Tomac gets a bad start in the main, as spectators. He looks to be on rails and I'm sure he has a chip on his shoulder from last weekend.
