So if you start a career series you can't back out without closing the app on PS4. That's pretty fuckin stupid

MES is friggin awesome and is VASTLY superior to anything we have ever been offered in a SX or MX game. Not even close. Milestone has given us so much more in their first attempt at SX than we have ever had. I often think people forget that we've never got this level of detail and content in a console SX game. Not even remotely close!

Fully licensed and full authenticity, real riders, perfect looking replica bikes and gear, replica tracks and stadiums, proper scale, 22 riders on gate, proper speed, proper shifting, great cameras including a great 3rd and 1st person view, separate braking, a need for throttle control and brakes. Plus qualifying, heats, semis, lcqs, mains, full points series, career mode, full customization, replays, bike tuning that matters, freaking track editor with the ability to run a champ series incorporating your custom tracks with the official ones,, no exaggeration in jumps, speed and scale, decent competitive AI, a beautiful and detailed look to every rider, bike and track and fun yet pretty realistic ganeplay with believable physics and superb ground physics and decent air physics..

The game is not perfect and yeah they need to fix the glitches...though I've experienced only 1 thus far...and I have a small list of improvements but it is, in my opinion, THE best SX game ever by a long shot. And I feel I can say that confidently after a few hours of play.

MES fanboy or not....this game absolutely rocks and destroys what we have previously got in our sport, game wise. Just my opinion, though.

I'm also super pumped most are loving the game. I was a bit worried it would be a little more arcade than their previous MX games but I think it feels right much more realistic than MXGP...which is great! Exceeding my very high expectations. Smile

Can't wait to be done tracking and spend time with Wife and get to play some more tonight!!

Proper scale? I seen a vid of someone doing a 5 out on a 250 at Daytona....

I am still trying to figure out how to mod my bike in Career mode lol. When I click custom bikes it gets rid of my sponsors and takes me back to a bone sock 450 to mod. I have a feeling this game was rushed so it could be advertised during SX season....
I️ think your right about the advertising..

Lol. I think I know exactly what section you're talking about. Right after the little section after the finish line? I use the last bump to jump into the little whoop section. I think I hit the last 2 or 3 whoops before the corner.

Gameplay might be a little fast. I don't know since I don't have much experience with the MXGP series. Only played the first MXGP for a short amount of time.

I’m on the fence but this doesn’t seem promising at the moment. I was really hoping for a smoother rollout, but based on these comments I’m kinda sketch about spending $70 when another game is coming out in a month. This thread has doubled in size since yesterday, so quick question...is it worth it? Help me out bros

Some will say yes and other will say no.

I say if you don't mind dealing with the issues mentioned, get it and hope that Milestone releases a patch to fix them.

On the other hand you might want to wait and see if the issues are fixed first before parting away with your $70.

Personally I think it's just an average game. It's not bad but in it's current form it's not great. 7/10.

After putting in a few hours I feel like they did a good job on the gameplay itself, but the rest of it seems rushed and is kind of a fucking mess. I think the actual riding, tracks, bikes, etc. are the best we've seen as far as supercross games go, but damn are there some issues.

1. The start is just stupid. Shifting into gear when you take off is dumb.

2. I just tried starting my career and ended up stuck on the menu screen with no way to exit except for closing the application. Also, what is with sponsors just completely changing the bike's appearance? You couldn't even tell what brand the bike was.

3. The AI sucks ass and is just completely dumb. They all take the exact same lines and stay bunched up in a big pack. Not sure why they can't seem to fix that issue as it was like that in all of the MXGP games as well.

4. The load times. My god, the load times. It just took the game at least a full minute to load the fucking options from the main menu.

I think the game has a really solid base and some patches will go a long way towards making it better, but I'm kind of surprised there wasn't a day one patch, which is pretty much the norm for games now. I think the gameplay is great and I'm glad we finally have a real game, but it needs quite a bit of polishing.

Played quite a bit the last day, here are my thoughts.

-Game looks really good and I like the detail in the tracks and stadiums

-Bikes/riders also look realistic and detailed

-The physics seem to be better than MXGP3 but i didn't play it long enough to tell a huge difference

-The AI riders are horrible, they bump you or get close to you and you lose a lot of momentum and/or crash, you absolute Friese them and they still make all the jumps and don't miss a beat. Land on top of them, they keep going.

-The clutch is almost worthless

-On the hardest settings the game is tough and I like that, the riders don't make mistakes and that makes it even harder

-No way to really separate yourself in rhythms, not saying they need a preload button but it would be nice to "try" different combos and have the ability to do things different than all the other riders

-I like that there is championship and career mode

-The track builder feature is cool, haven't tested it out too much but I like the option to build your own tracks

-Wish the bike setup made more of a difference, doesn't seem like going from one extreme to the other makes a huge difference

-Saw bikes phantom jumping jumps after making a big mistake

Overall I enjoy the game and like the features, looks wise they absolute killed it. I wish the game wasn't so finicky and they had a better menu system. Im going to keep playing and enjoying it for what it is.

Just turn everything down. It will settle the bike down. Keep the gear ratio on medium. Go all the way down and add a little at a time to find the desired setting.

Thanks man! I was fully expecting someone to respond with “read the comments, a-hole!” I like MXGP3 a lot so I had high hopes that this would be seamless. I don’t really care one way or the other for the in-depth career mode and all that, just like racing online. I’m not gonna say a word that rhymes with “knee pecks”, but I miss turning on the console and going straight to full lobby for back to back motos

Anyone else having problems uploading tracks from the editor on XB1? I also can’t view tracks that other people have uploaded.

Sorry i didnt see it. On 250 ill switch the gear ratio to short on some that have big jumps out of corners. I tend to keep the front suspension bar a little lower then the rear. Seems to help with the bike making random swap outs.

I forgot to mention that I haven't played online yet so I can't comment on that experience. I've only played single races and championship mode.

I haven't played around with the track editor either but have seen enough videos to know it's a great feature. There's a lot of obstacles to choose from so it will take some trial and error to come up with tracks that make sense and have a good flow to them. I know I'll spend countless hours playing around with that feature when I get around to it.

Maybe wait a week or two before purchasing the game. By then maybe your local game store will have a lightly used copy so you'll save a bit of money. If fact call them up and ask them to let you know when someone brings in a used copy. They can put it aside for you. I've done that in the past.

Are you on PC or console? If on console which one? There's a Vital MX community/group on both consoles.

Those are controlled with the directional pad and the game selections are with the joystick.

Just wondering. Did you joined the PS4 group yet? Were now over 50 members on there. I'm actually surprised at the number to be honest. I wasn't expecting that amount of Vitards to sign up especially on the PS4.

Should always have someone to play with now.

Yeah had this discussion with a friend last night. Never try stabbing the clutch to get yourself going again after you mess up, it'll only slow you down more. Anyone have any interest in maybe starting a bike setup discussion maybe in a off topic forum?
definitely with the bike setup topic. sometimes i feel like i can tell when i mess with the options and other times i feel like they’re useless. i’d love to see what some other people are saying

Honestly it seems like Milestone was trying to cater to the biggest possible crowd for this game and they did great. Sure it's got some bugs at launch but they had a deadline for supercross and I'm they'll be patched out. If the game had a learning curve like MX Simulator nobody would buy the damn thing. But there will probably be some kids out there that buy this game having never ridden a dirtbike and it will lead to them buying a bike and growing the sport. If Milestone takes this series and improves on it like they did with MXGP it has the potential to only get better from here.

Yeah, I’m definitely gonna wait a week or so. I’m sure they will get it worked out, as I’m sure they are lurking here. I play on PS4 (PSN: motoracer971) and I actually joined the Vital community a few weeks ago in preparation for these games, so I really hope they buff it out.

I really miss the glory days of mxonlinetournaments.com (2010-12ish was the best) and it would be cool to get something like that going again here...organized series, classes, etc., and the track editor would keep it interesting, for sure.

*edit: I think you added me there, MAVERICK

That’s cool there are 50 people in there...I have ZERO friends that play moto games so anyone else in there, add me! PSN: motoracer971

Love the game. It is not perfect but the tracks turned out way better than I throught they would have. And man oh man is the turning the best in any Mx game? You can square up people or rail berms. The in air physics are a little goofy obviously as it’s a milestone game, but I catch myself still stretching a jump then pushing the front down to downside a jump. Sucks messing rhythms up don’t cost you a ton of time but I get why it doesn’t because it’s so easy to do.

And on top of all that, the track editor made this game even worth getting alone. Can’t believe how good it turned out for their first crack at it. And it makes for unlimited tracks to race on.

I’m a die hard reflex guy and this is the most fun I’ve had in a long long time. Love it. Hopefully they sort out the first launch issues quick though. They do have their fair share, still worth the buy right now though.
