Nice bike.....gave a ton of pics of it for sure...Doss was awful fast back in the day.
My best friend has two of these; one a race, other for parts. Loves his.
I had found one way back in '89 in some guys garage complete; wanted $75 bucks for it and I snatched it up.....had difficulties finding parts for it at the time and sold it for $100.
Wish I had kept it; running or not....the wish I knew that then what I know now deal.......

Here's a cool pic of Danny Doss (430) getting the holeshot in the 1974 Florida-AMA series. That's Savitzki (60), and Buck Murphy #85 on Penton. notice Dickey Nowell(#453) t-boning Rich Thorwaldson's (#3) works Suzuki. that's a Noguchi 250 next to Dickey.

Thanks to Craig Knight @ TxVintage for the cool pic.

TLC ruled Texas motocross for years. Pickard, Doss, Crowley are the only three I remember. Lots of Pentons. Priddy rode with them, too, for a time?

there were actually two different TLC teams, but Wyman and Bobby Pickard never rode for them. Ike Haas, owner of Texas Leisure Chair (TLC) organized a team in 72', had a heart attack in Fall of 72', disbanded the 1st team, then revamped early 73'.
Jody Foust was on the first team, but not the second. others who rode for Ike and Texas Leisure Chair include Danny Doss, Bobby Hickey (Ike's step-son), Ronnie Shoecraft, Mike Crowley, Keller Crowley, Richard Reeves, Rod Young, Tim Riddle. Joe Joiner and Murry Adams were team mechanics. Ike continued to sponsor Danny on the national circuit in 74', after the team was discontinued.

Are you sure about Pickard? I'm old, but I remember him on the Penton sporting the TLC jersey.

I'm sure of it. Bobby never rode on TLC. he did ride for Super Cycle in Arlington, TX, Terry's Kawasaki (Curtis Terry), Husky/Penton of Dallas (John Long), and Kimbrell's Maico/Suzuki (Johnny Kimbrell).

Wow, never realized texas was the hotbed of moto that far back in the day. Sean Hackley Jr and his pops moved there from PA a few years back and he made the jump from Am to Pro pretty quick after that. Y'all must remember Steve Wise...stay tuned for something big from him. :-)
