If you notice, he's also not hooking his boot under the footpeg like many of the riders are doing to scrub

Yep, which is weird considering they called it "Atlanta Supercross"

Man, I just signed up for the 7 day trial of PSNow and played reflex for the first time in a few year and it sure did set the standard! I forgot how rough the sand tracks got and how much fun it was to play. Only thing I would change is how easy it was to move the bike in the air. I wish they would come out with a revised reflex to fix the small issues. That would blow any other game out of the water!

Yeah, Sandwick got BRUTAL after only 3 laps and 12 riders on it. Loved that, and still play it often

I agree. It felt so real. Cause you really needed to be more patient after each lap. The winner was always the guy who didn't wreck. It was so easy to push it too far and go down. That brings back awesome memories.

Cancel the pre-order, can't be throwing money at that lack of immersion.

I’m going to pick up a copy for ps3 on my way home from work today. I forgot how much fun that game was. Alive was fun also, but not nearly as fun. I hope all out can bring that back. Because Supercross sucked!

Speaking of which, is it me or is it impossible to wreck on these recent(MXGP and Encore) games? I don’t get it. I mean you can get hung up in the tough blocks, or go off track and get reset, but rarely can you make an “on track” mistake and crash. Come up short on a tricky triple-quad-quad section? Oh just ride off like it didn’t happen. Like you said, in Reflex you had to be more patient with each lap, often times there would be a tricky rhythm section where after a few laps you would be forced into changing your lines because the track deteriorated and it wasn’t possible anymore. If you did try it, you paid the price. These new games you just bounce across the tops of jumps with no real consequence. You’ll lose a little time to the guy who does it clean, but you don’t totally just eat shit and die like the old games.

Also, the ability to clean people out doesn’t seem to be available anymore either. I’m not dirty rider, but I would like to have the option to clean someone out for the win. It seems like you can just drill someone and again they just ride off like it didn’t happen. “Bar banging” was MvAs term for it, the ability for everyone to play bumper cars with no consequences for either party. MXGP is a little better in this regard, but it’s still not what it used to be. The ability to make, or the possibility to receive, Osborne/Savatgy type passes always made the final few corners of a close race really intense, and fun as hell.

Sorry for the rant, just reminiscing. lol

IMO MXGP 2 was very realistic as far as crashes are concerned. It was much like reflex. But you have to be very skilled when cleaning people out. 99/100 you go down. Now that I'm thinking about Reflex though, the realistic racing value was way before its time. I remember at the last minute hitting the brakes cause I didn't have enough speed to clear quads.

Yea reflex we all had “prison rules” on last few corners of the last lap. Where it was Everyman for him self. Nothing like prairie valley going threw the rollers and hook at rut and go flying off the track. The famous ding when someone clipped the water tower

I think this game will be a good time and the best one yet in the series.

Rider is able to clear the finish line without looking like a C class goon so they atleast have that going for them lol.

I like what I see and I can't wait to see more. Looks leaps and bounds better than Encore, which I did enjoy playing despite its flaws. Everything looks more fluid, I don't see the weird turning physics or jerky movements like Encore had.

Track scale still looks too wide but it's not terribly bad. Alive was perfect scale wise, to me. This looks a bit too Unleashed like railing that berm. Which is a game I hated, honestly. Hope you actually have to use the brakes on this game which is something that has been absent from a lot of their games. Especially the aforementioned Unleashed where you could just rail every berm and never touch the binders.

Game speed looks more realistic so that's a good thing. Skeptical due to the poorness of their last effort but optimistic it will be an improvement over Encore, for sure. Hoping for a solid game and some Outdoors dlc and or the rumored Goat Farm.

The new engine sounds seem cool. They talked about it in one of the other videos, where the sound matches what the bike is actually doing. That video showed it pretty well.

I'm pretty sure that is still just the beta sound. I think the finalized sound will be much different.

This game will be a lot better than Encore. It won't even be comparable in my opinion. As for using the brakes I totally get what you're saying. In some of the previous games you barely had to use them.

That said if you take a look at the last clip I posted you can see that the rider let's off the gas near the end of the whoop section and brakes just after them in order to make the corner before hitting the finish line jump. Nice roost coming off the rear tire after accelerating on the downside of the landing too.
