after reading his monday conversation on racer x, i think it couldn't have come at a better time. coming off a suspension, and last week not being able to race, and then hearing him say in the rx interview he's "running out of money", would lead me to believe he really, really needed something good to happen. he even said at the beginning of the year that he was funding the team and it had to be successful, or else. racers, even very talented ones, are forgotten in milliseconds. the old cliche holds true in most cases, that you're only as good as your last race, and right now, jason is good again...anyone remember these guys: tyler evans, billy payne, turbo reif, kim ashkenazi, nathan ramsey. these are guys that were racing in the last two years or year, and you don't remember them unless their names are brought up. shoot even last year, we were talking about guys that STILL ARE racing, like marsack's podium at daytona '08 and preston's fill-in comeback. now, marsack can't make mains and preston is home healing. if you're not friends/family, do you miss them? (ps-i was j/k about ash-can!)
On 28 April, also at Reading Crown Court, Ashkenazi received an additional sentence of nine months imprisonment, to run consecutively, for possession of indecent images of children. He was also placed on the Sex Offenders’ Register for 10 years.
Ashkenazi was arrested as part of Operation Harp, which investigates the use of payment cards for accessing web sites known to contain indecent child images. Thames Valley Police executed a warrant at his address in September 2004, where they seized computers which were found to contain hundreds of indecent images of children. During the search, ecstasy tablets, amphetamines and cannabis were also seized. Ashkenazi later pleaded guilty to possession of half a kilo of cocaine with intent to supply while on bail for the above offences.

I hope he does....makes a much more interesting season.....especially if he can get to where he can run 20 laps at speed giving us 3 potential winners.
But not many of us from Oz were surprised about the drug conviction(s)....

Again, attrition is part of racing, if you crash, then you are the weaker on that day. At Daytona, Lawrence, was better than everyone, except Chad Reed.
The bottom line is this...One podium, a champion does not make. He needs to string together several podiums, and be consistent.
Big (disposable) money is what it takes to fund JLaw...He has talent, he just needs to dedicate himself...Work now, play later !
