Also they need to make them have more consistent results regularly the top guys are backpackers which just means you dominate the points

I'm fairly addicted to Dirt Rally and I can remember early on thinking to myself "well that's just dumb, so they've just made it impossible to win? how is that fun?" but what do you know here I am still playing it everyday and winning haha

I almost wish they would let you run a 125 two stroke in the MXGP class in a series. I would have a lot of fun with that since my lap times are still better on the 125 than what the MXGP guys run in the game.

Dude, the Dirt games are so hard. I have Dirt 4 and it's ridiculous how technical it is. I'm not even on the hardest setting and it gets so intense. When I got the game, I beat it on the default setting and said there's no way I am going to be able to move this setting up. Now here I am trying to beat the game on 2 settings harder. I love it.
You really want hard? Go play Dirt Rally. It’s better than Dirt 4 with better physics and I find it more challenging and technecal. I love the Dirt series, it really keeps you on edge when playing that game.

I think the AI could be easily fixed so it’s competitive for everyone. Take the current riders’ stats over the last 3 years(?) and average them out and break them into groups of 5. For example, Tier 1 riders would be Tomac, Musquin, Roczen, Anderson, and Dungey(I haven’t actually looked at stats but I’m assuming they would be top 5). Now they start out as easy AI, but each time you race your fastest “ghost” will replace one of those top riders(selected randomly). As you get faster/better at the game, your faster times will keep being awarded to a random Tier 1 rider, and your older/slower race times will trickle down to a random Tier 2 rider, then Tier 3, and finally Tier 4. This way the AI progresses at the same pace as each individual player, and it keeps it somewhat realistic by having the top guys at the front. Does that makes sense and seem plausible?
To me this is very plausible with modern games. I'm no programmer but I have a hard time believing a system like that couldn't be done, especially when we have games dating back to ps2 days that do the "ghost" or "time trials" for individual laps. I think itd be cool to have the first season of w/e class you are racing, the AI riders finish each race in the exact position the did in real life only being offset by the actual player. For example lets say at A2 2017 the real life results were, Dungey wins, MM25 gets second and Seely got 3rd. In game they finish the same except get bumped depending on where the actual player finishs. So if player gets 2nd then Dungey still wins, MM25 gets 3rd and Seely would get 4th. This way the player has to be even more consistent then the real champion of that year was. Thoughts?

Either way, both games are gonna be sick. Best case scenario is these two games take little pieces from each other and use that to build for future games. If MES had some outdoor stuff, test areas, maybe some freestyle ramps and a few "realistic" but not real MX tracks. Or if MVA had tracks that played more realistic with better scaling, and a series that wasn't our actual series, but maybe fake cities with realistic tracks? That way it wasn't one or the other.

Mean Dean, you said it perfectly. There's so much more to a good game than replicating a series, which I think is not necessary but makes any game that much more fun to follow. I'm constantly building bikes and changing parts and colors in MXGP, I love the customization part of any game. So for me, I want a game that has lots of options for parts to change. Hoping MES has more bike graphics options, and options to change sprocket colors, triple clamps, hubs, graphics colors, seat colors, all that stuff.

I guess the MX vs ATV team noticed some people saying the whips look scripted because on their facebook page there's a video with a caption saying 100% player controlled whips. I knew it was highly unlikely they would have a whip animation, but it's good they cleared that up anyways. They also posted saying these are the largest free roam maps they've ever made. I'm super pumped, everything they're releasing looks awesome to me. I like free roam maps if they're fun and creative. The free roam maps on encore were a bit boring but these look really good. I know it's just a dream but I wish old maps from MCM2 would be included like Morenci Mine. I loved that map and launching a huge hill over the train was so cool.

Geez look at the rider’s fingers. Not even close to be proportional. I hope that issue is fixed before it’s released or else I won’t be buying it.

Wow. That's really unique. The setting looks like a national park. The more I see, the more excited I get, and the more I understand why they waited so long to release anything.. This game is shaping up to look pretty great.

This confirms it, whips are definitely pre-animated.

Now can people stop saying that they are.

Dont you mean NOT pre-animated because of the fact that they have been spitting out words like "ALL YOU, ALL OUT" for weeks now?

I think you missed the point. Re-read my second sentence.

I was being sarscastic. People have been bitching and complaining that they were going to be like MXGP/MES when clearly they weren't going to be.

It was obvious from the start that you were going to have full control of the bike and rider. In all their modern previous releases you had controlled of everything so why would they suddendly change to a single button?

Go browse comments on Facebook and Instagram, you'll see what I mean.

^ It definitely reads more like a typo than sarcasm to me as well. But I get where you were going with it.

It seemed very unlikely they would make a whip animation. I think the rumor started because people said the whips looked too identical in the trailer they first released. I'm glad it's been cleared up. Anyways, that environment looks pretty rad. I hope they release some videos with the 2 stroke, curious to hear what they sound like.

Pretty sweet we have some games lined up. This feels like the late 90's waiting for EA Supercross / RC Game / McGrath games during playstation 1 era Grinning

Got that right. I'm glad people have had choices in recent years instead of 1 option. If you don't like a certain game you can get a different one. You're not stuck buying something and finding out you don't like it and be left with nothing.

PS1 and PS2 era had some great MX/SX games.

PS3 was hit and miss.

PS4 has been pretty good so far and it looks like it's going to be even better soon.
