I used a Bud racing cylinder head on my 06 RM125 and I was happy with it. I planned to swap back and forth between the high compression head and the pump gas but sold the bike before I ordered another insert. Their clutch perch/lever with the bearing lucks like a good buy too.. Hopefully it can be a good alternative to that insanely expensive Works Connection perch..

Thanks for the info! I already have a WC perch i had on my 17 CRF450R. Bud seems like it works awesome but hoping for some real reviews! Really looking at their pipes, look trick!

So over just sitting in the house after this surgery so decided to get out into the garage for like 2 hours just to get my fix of working on this thing for alittle bit. Cleaned up the frame, subframe and swing arm some more and put the swingarm back together with fresh grease. Decided to put those pieces all together just to free up some space.

Noticed there are some weird scratched on the main frame where the boot rubs. I will end up putting some MotoTape over that.



Started to take apart the air box/boot to clean it up and reseal it. Here are some before pictures.

Not that many people care about my surgery, but went to the doc today and I’m good to walk around and drive again so expect more and more work to get done on this thing. Getting ready to place a big order for most of my parts I need for this thing. And hopefully will have the suspension apart next week and have everything at the anodized and cerakoter!!

Thanks guys for the kind words!

In the mean time the cleaning continues! Started the cleaning process on the the master cylinders and calipers. Plastic guards are pretty hammered. Pry just going to replace them!

Just a heads up, but check out the Mx Bonz air box kits they make for these bikes. I ended up just making my own, but you’ll get the idea when you check them out. Your air filter WILL NOT seal correctly without doing something similar to these kits, the design is bad from the factory and will constantly allow some dirt to pass. My dad and I used to fight about this all the time when I was younger riding this bike, and come to find out it was a design flaw rather than me being incompetent. Check them out, whether you make your own or buy a kit you need to do something.

Spent a couple hours cleaning up the calipers and master cylinders today. Think they came out pretty good. One of the bolt holes on the front brake master cylinder is stripped and the bolt was screwed unfortantely. Hoping I can just retap the hole.

Not much work around since New Years and getting ready to go to A1 tomorrow. But a few parts have shown up! Forks and shock are getting rebuilt currently and the hubs and triple clamps are getting coated! Hopefully will have all of those pieces when I get back from Anaheim next week!!

Here is the first batch of parts! Rims, HRC Bar Clamp, and Hinson Inner Hub/Pressure plate that I found on eBay brand new for $200! Talk about a steal! My buddy that will be building the motor has a Hinson basket, so I will be getting that from him!

Dude, I’ve been looking at it for awhile now. And I would love it, but I can’t drop that kind of money on suspension right now! Maybe in the future!

Yes. Been using a dremel to remove the casting marks. And for cleaning been using a few different things and brushes to get it as clean as possible.

My suspension should be done this week, along with my triple clamps being pressed back together. I have a decent order coming in at the end of this week/beginning of next week for my first order of parts. Hopefully will have it as a roller next week some time!

Finally got my hubs back today so laced them up to my new DID rims.

Those wheels are beautiful! I've got a spare set of hubs and have been thinking about going with the same color hub and rim combo. Well done!

Hubs look killer! How's the knee coming along? I've had both knees reconstructed, first one was meniscus/ ACL, didn't tear mine though ripped it clear out of my femur. Doctor said 6 month minimum, was back surfing and riding in 3 with custom DonJoy brace. Keep up on the CPM machine I lived on mine, doc wanted me to increase 3-5 degrees a day 8 hours a day and PT 3 days a week. Exhaust wise I went with the DEP and a PC shorty with the old school stinger of course. Looking forward to your finished product knee and bike wise!

Dude, do it. They look killer. The hubs are a cerakote and the color is called “Burnt Bronze”. You’ll deff like them espically if you have a spare set just sitting around.

Thanks for the words! That tear off the femur sounds gnarly!!

Knee is doing great! My doc only had me in the CPM for 3 weeks and I was the same way. 6-8 hours a day and increase the degree by 5 every day. Hit the 120 degree goal no problem in about 2 and a half weeks of having it. Started PT twice a week last week but my insurance is crappy and only allows for 12 PT sessions in a year. So my PT doc gave me a bunch of at home work outs that I do morning and night and then in a few weeks I will go back to him when it really matters and we can start to work it back out once the healing process is critical!

This is just a suggestion, I'm not sure if you're trying to get more power out of the bike because the '04 wasn't exactly the fastest, but with mine I swapped the stock carb for a 38mm Keihin PWM. It eliminates the throttle position sensor and I added a Boysen Rad valve and it made a huge difference and got rid of the bog. Also swapping the stock KYB suspension to newer stock Shows units is a cheap and easy upgrade. Hope that helps, good luck with the build!!

Received my first order of smaller parts. Basically everything to get it back into a roller. Wheel bearings, tires, tubes, rim locks, sprockets, etc... Wheels will be trued next week and mounted onto the bike hopefully!

Also picked up my picked up my shock spring from the painter, and got the rest of my suspension back. Along with my triple clamps. Unfortantely though, one of the holes on the top triple clamp is cross threaded so I will need to fix that.

Here is how the suspension turned out! Whatcha guys think??

Where'd you get the HRC bar mount? 1-1/8 bars I'm assuming?

Honda sells them! Yes they are 1-1/8. Honda part number and everything. I never knew this, but they offer all kinds of crap. Some of the parts are hard to get as it seems Honda holds it back or only made it for a short while.

They are about $100 or so. I would have to find the part number again. I start back at work on Friday from my surgery. I can check then.
