Warning this one is a little long but bare with me.

The only feedback they should be taking is from people like us on this board. We're what they should be after not Tom, Dick & Harry that occasionally plays an off-road game. Cater to the hardcore players first and the casual gamers will learn to appreciate it. Not the other way around. It doesn't work.

I had time today so I decided to look through their Facebook page to see if I could pick up some information and some of the shit I've read is just rediculous in my opinion.

Examples.

-Will it have freestyle? Replied. Yes
-Will I be able to do a backflip? Replied. Yes.
-Will I be able to do a frontflip? Replied. We've been doing them.
-Will it have EDM? Replied. Stay tuned we've only released 3 songs.
-Can you do wheelies in this one? If not I don't want to waste my money. Replied. Long wheelies and stoppies too.
-Does it have monster trucks and bi-planes? Replied. MX, ATV & UTV to start with. We'll have to wait and see if we get the itch to add more in at a later time.
-Song requests. Replied. Thanks for the request.
-Will we be able to waterskip if not I'll be so upset. Replied. You can hydroplane.

The above is NOT what they should be listening too.

The better ones asked.

-Any plans for OEM's? Any new gear brands? Replied. Stay tuned! We have a lot more info we want to share.
-What about the physics? Replied. All new from the ground up using the Unreal Engine 4.
-Better than MX Unleashed? Replied. Different but will remind you of parts of it.
-I don't know about this. Pretty skeptical. Replied. We see your skeptical and raise you an optimistic from our side. (Pretty much saying it's an improvement over the last games)
-Can you put 6D helmets and Alias gear? Replied. We'll see what we can do...
-Online free roam? Replied. Yes.

Other things I've noticed that stood out.

-There's 3 large open maps/environments to explore
-There will be waypoint races
-Split screen multiplayer
-We will be able to choose between single stick or dual stick control.
-2 strokes and 4 strokes
-MX and SX tracks. Looks like it won't be authentic tracks. There was a question and they replied with "new tracks we've been dreaming up for awhile". Who knows they might come via DLC.
-Types of gameplay: outdoor, indoor, freeride, MX, SX, Tag, Waypoint...
Yeah, I've preached for years to make it for the hardcore fans not the casual fan. I don't mean a straight sim. We all know that won't sell enough to keep a console franchise going strong financually if it's a full blown simulation. Make a game that is made for the MX fan, first and foremost but modes to make it accessible to all. The casual fans play other games. The hardcore fans buy the dlc and keep the game going.

But man, Rainbow do not listen. At least not to the MX community. They are more concerned about backflips and over the top nonsense. I've tried to give them the benefit of the doubt but they just want to make a casual fan off road vehicle game. Which is fine. More power to them. Just not my preference.

I'm sure it will be better than Encore but if it doesn't have replica tracks I doubt it will hold my interest. They take way too many liberties with their dreamed up tracks and usually are nowhere near anything realistic.

With that being said I've already pre ordered so call me a sucker again. Lol. My expectations are low so maybe it will be a real good game.

Some of their answers just bug the hell out of me. I want it to be good but honestly I think it will be Unleashed 2017. Meh.

And no, they should have focus groups or the MX community to give input. Not random people playing for 10 minutes.

Same ol same ol from this team. Milestone may struggle a bit with air physics but they get nearly everything else right and at least they succeed in representing the true sport we love. Rainbow just wants to make games for non moto fans. It just aggravates me. Sorry for being frustrated.

Just glad I've got something else to look forward to. But like I said, I'll give them another shot...again.

i have just as much fun playing reflex’s made up national tracks as i do playing any replica track. actually i have more favorite tracks from moto games that are not replicas than i do replicas. i realize everyone is different and has preferences but i think some of you are being way to narrow minded although i see your frustration. maybe if your expectations aren’t so high and you just look at it for what it is...a dirt bike game...the fun will come back. the way it’s supposed to be.

like i said a couple of times...i bet this game is more fun to play then the new supercross game. i’m tellin ya!

That's like wanting to buy a bike that looks pretty, but you don't care how it runs.

If they can't get the physics running right, or have the rider looking goony and launching to the moon in slow motion, then why does it matter if they have pretty replica tracks. Answer : a polished turd is still a turd.

^^ This here.

I purchased the Supercross 2017 replica tracks because I thought it would be pretty sweet to be doing the same track that was coming up that weekend. (All the tracks released Tuesday before the race so you could be racing on whatever layout was coming up that weekend.) The rhythms you hit on the game were ridiculous and not even close to what was being done by Tomac and Dung on the weekends. So, in all honesty, I bought the tracks and ran them on Tuesday that they released before the race and that was probably the last time I touched them. By the time Vegas came and they released the Vegas layout, I was over it. You can have replica tracks, but if the physics blow, it. is. pointless.

Yes. Replica tracks are the last thing on my list I want. I want authentic gear and bikes, full customization, good physics, and REALISTIC tracks.

And also, it would be dumb for these guys to cater to the hard core mx gamer. Why would they base a game around us, when in the end they could make the game for the average bob joe and Billy to have fun on? In the end they know we will buy the game. How many of you guys on here said you've preordered the game? They already have you in the palm of their hand. They need to bring outsiders in, that's their goal. They already have us, they want more.

I have spent a ton of time over the years in direct contact with the developers, expressing ideas, constructive criticism, etc but I think I should just come to terms that they and I just aren't on even close to the same page. History tells me that.

Back in the early 2000s I much preferred EA Supercross and MX2002 and Superfly to Unleashed. Then I preferred MTX Mototrax to MX ATV Unleashed/Untamed. I did like Reflex and loved Alive's JS7 stuff..the best thing Rainbow has EVER done.. but their inability to create a season points series back then made it pointless. Like having the Redskins in Madden but all you can do is play exhibition games with no season. Meh.

When they finally added back a points series and got replica tracks it was stuck on one of their worst efforts in years so Encore was a huge disappointment. Again, I'd take any of the 3 MXGP titles over it, especially 2 with the super fun Stadium Series.

So history tells me that we should just agree to disagree on what I want and what they are going to do. Its sad because I think they could make a great game. The direction is more the problem than the execution, in my opinion.

You've posted several times in this thread about how you think the developers don't listen. Do you really think they wouldn't want to make a game officially licensed by AMA/FIM or that had all the gear, bikes, and real tracks? They are still a business and need to make a profit which means operating within a budget and development timeline. They need to release games to make money and keep developing. My guess is they had to get through the first couple of games to get to this game. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure there are things they could've done better, but I wouldn't take it as them not listening to your feedback. More likely they didn't have the time/money to get them done, especially if they were planning to build a new game in a new engine.

The physics on this game will be deciding factor in my opinion. Even without all the real bikes/gear if they made the physics fun like Reflex I'll be a fan. If it's more of the same stuff we've seen since Alive, then I'll give up on the MXvATV series and hope the MXGP physics get better.

No I don't think they ever really wanted to replicate the series and get the full licensing. Or at least not bad enough to do what it took. If they had, they would have made it happen sometime in their nearly 14 year history on consoles.

I do realize the current team is small and does have a small budget but MVA is the biggest selling MX franchise in gaming history. I'm sure, along the line, they could have made it happen if really wanted to. Milestone isn't exactly the biggest company, either.

MVA has been called the official game of SX since back when Reflex and Alive came out so there have been ties and of course last year with Feld and the replica tracks.

I don't know. I just think it's odd they can never do it, can't be done, etc for 14 years then boom a small Italian company makes it happen.

Regardless, I hope the game is good.

I honestly just want to have as many solid MX SX games as possible. Yes, I know which one I'll prefer but I support all companies willing to make a MX game.

I do want them to listen to us. The MX community. When they don't, yes, I get frustrated. I do so because I've spent lots of dollars on this series, lots of times on forums making suggestions and I support in hopes they improve and give us a serious, good game.

Ok so im going through the actual Nordic site and instead of the Mva site and this line catches my eye "Turn your private compound into a show room for the all of your customized vehicles" what does it exactly mean by this? We get our own compound like mxgp but freeride?

My guess is you'll have your own compound like the JS7 stuff they did and all the bikes, atv and utv's you create will be on display in a shop and all you'll have to do is ride up to a ride press a button and you'll automatically switch vehicles.

You were able to switch vehicles in an earlier game without having to quit the game, select a new vehicle and load a new environment. I remember just riding up to a monster truck in an open world map, press a button and off you went with the truck, atv, plane, etc.

I think it'll be something like that.

They did say that parts of the new game would remind us of MX Unleashed so that could be one part of it.

For real though. If what Maverick is saying is accurate (and I think it is) I believe this game will be very fun. And I believe that will make up in a big way (not all the way) for any lack of excellence in physics & track realism. For once though... especially after reading Maverick's post earlier... THQ Nordic seems to be moving in the right direction.

My gut tells me it will be better. They know Reflex satisfied most of the core community, but supposedly they lost or didn't have the rights to the engine. And since 2011(?) Alive, Supercross, Encore, and 2017 Edition were all basically the same game. If I'm being ever the optimist, I'd assume in the last 6-7 years they've been working it.

Also, do you guys have an online gaming community for these games? I have a PC and a PS4.

I started a community on PS4 for Vital gamers. Search for Vital MX in communities. You'll see the Vital logo. It's a private group so send me a request and I'll add you to the list. There's about 18-20 guys on there if I remember correctly. Should be a good time once these games come out.

Well, now I'm confused. On pg 18 you became the only person here (Other than ML512) to say you had tested the game. You literally said: "Its amazing to play, the open worlds are huge and the graphics are insane. "

Do you think they are taking a step in the right direction? or no?
Or are you trolling and you never played the game?

Back in the day when I was a kid my favorite games were MX Rider (haven’t seen it mentioned?) RC’s MX2002, MX unleashed, and the rest of the MVA series of course until it got bad...I never got to play Superfly or MTX mototrax sadly. I remember on MX rider you could get sponsored by a team and race for them and everything after a few races. Pretty sweet for a game made in 2001. and I remember jumping buses in MX2002 Cool

I also remember playing a motocross game where you start out as a “nobody” at some compound....maybe that was MTX or Superfly in the beginning? Not sure. I just hope they make this game really good.

Is there a group for Xbox?
No idea. I don't play on Xbox One. Search for one. I'm sure there's MX gaming groups but maybe not one for Vital members. I suggested to someone to create one a while back but don't know if he created one or not.

Do a search for gamer tags/xbox names on here that way you can atleast add/play with people from the forum. If there's no Vital MX group on Xbox One just start one and invite the people from the board that play on that console. Besides it's free so you have nothing to lose.

Reason I created one is simply because I know I won't have to deal with a bunch of random kids trying to take people out for fun, saying bro/nigga every other word, etc. Not that everyone around here is mature but you know lol.

I think that was mtx mototrax. it featured pastrana in it. You started out racing lites and doing amatuer freestyle and worked your way up

I do think they are taking a step in the right direction. But i was just contradicting myself for a second Laughing
