He qualified out of practice to race in the heats. He got a bad start in the LCQ. I took a picture of him but it's on my laptop at home so I'll post it later.

Robbie's back on a Honda for the first time in a long time. Give him some time and he'll be just fine. RR still has a ton of talent and can turn some laps when he's ready to.

I still think Robbie is a much better outdoor rider. He floats over bumps better than anyone I ever saw. Too bad you can't make any money riding outdoors.

yea it was a case of the nerves, bad starts, and only having very lil testing on the new bike. It has been a few years since he has been on Red...so give him some time. I also have to agree..I love watching him race outdoors. last year in Texas was just amazing. Watching him go from a dead last start (typical) to 11 th place in the 2nd moto in the TX heat was so much FUN. My heart will always be with the outdoors. LONG LIVE real MX!! :-)

Yeah that kid used to rail outdoors ... I remember watching him at Mammoth back in 93 his first pro year , him and Lamson and Dammon Huffman were going at it hard.....The kid had some serious speed.

I was at Freestone, and Robbie went out there and rode the same speed, same braking points, same lines every lap in 100+ degree heat and everyone else other than Ferry had their tongues hanging out. Robbie looked like he could do that all day long. He was just a maestro on a motorcycle. When I left, I was talking to my son and we were talking about who we really thought were other-worldly, artistic, cyborg riders and our list was - Stewart, Villopoto and Reynard.

Tell him "Hi" from the Shaws...hope to see you there this summer.

Cool pics, Bobby.

You look at pictures of Reynard, and they're kind of like pictures of DeCoster. He's always balanced, head forward, arms in line with the bars, weight on his feet and not on his arms. He's never wrestling the bike.

Performance art. That's what it is.

Good to see Robbie getting some props. I dug out an old VHS the other day, it was from April 24 1993 before Robbie even turned pro and it was shot by me at 59th, but he was running 593. Awesome video. He had in his day as much skill at making a small bore move as anyone ever.

Robbie is always a favorite around here. Watching him ride is a real pleasure.

Remember he had a segment on MotoXXX or Crusty Demons of dirt, right whn he was turning pro - unbelievable how smooth he was & had really great corner speed.

you can't make or train for what reynard has...that is a huge fucking deal to real mxer's.

for whatever reason he didn't make rc status...but it doesn't really matter now does it?

only a handful of folks can ride like reynard does/did...a handfuckingful.

Saw him at Lakewood a few years ago sitting on his bike in the pits by the fence.
Wanted to slap him on the back and wish him luck but the stare he had going at the track was so focused that I didn't want to bother him.

From all of the stuff I have seen in other videos about him (and his dad, LOL), I think he deserves a Motocross Files piece.

What is really cool with Robbie is that he has stayed very loyal to most of his sponsors over the years. How many years has he been with No Fear??
