I mean that line of work. I understand that it's probably pretty hard right now when you're starting out small in an industry as big as entertainment, but I'd love to do that kind of work--even on a small scale.
Do you do film stuff now?

Eh, not really. I write some stuff in my free time, but that's about it.

FYI, as we sit here talking about "lazy millennials", we have a thread in the moto section dedicated to getting people to motive a non-millennial to work out so he doesn't die.

It's a start.

If you ever need anyone to bounce stuff of off I'd be more than willing to give it a read. I don't have a ton of writing credits to my name but an extra pair of eyes never hurts.

Not judge mental - just observational.

What I've said is nothing new, my dad has displayed it, his friends have, and many older people on this exact form fall directly into what I was talking about... not to mention most of it can be backed up with statistics. I then look at people in my generation struggling with fear of terrorism, their neighbors, etc and see the direct relation to the anti Islamic rhetoric we've all been hearing since 9/11. Fear this religion, be afraid the government is going to take your gun, be afraid that your going to find yourself in a situation where you either have to kill your neighbor or they'll kill you. It's without a doubt laid a stong foundation of fear amongst many young Americans.

But if you have a counter point, an actual point aside from just calling me pot or kettle, I'm all ears.

I work a lot, try to get hammered and do drugs and go out on adventures and ride dirt bikes and play golf as much as I can, but yeah these girls at the work function sound boring. They're probably little freaky sluts in bed tho, liked to get choked and shit.

Lol, aren't all the old guys the ones on here complaining that they need "vet tracks" and that there are too many "do or die" jumps on their tame local moto track?Laughing

Born in 89 here. My generation is pretty lame as a whole. I share nothing in common with what you would consider a millennial.

The older generations has...
- Allowed education to become extremely expensive (harder to go away to school).
- Allowed healthcare to become ridiculously expensive (to the point it will bankrupt us if we fuck around).
- Kept minimum wage at a laughable low (how do we buy fun shit?).
- Drastically raised housing prices (hard to save when you make shit all; unless of course you want to take on even more debt).
- Convinced all of us that ISIS will brutally murder us if we travel overseas.
- Convinced all of us that we should be so afraid of our neighbors that we all need guns to protect ourselves.

And we wonder why kids these days are having less fun? We can sit here all we want and blame technology, like people blamed books back in the day ("put down that book and go outside"), but as proven with books, technology (when viewed from a larger scope) breaks down more walls than it builds.

All said, I'm an 85' kid, and I've found a way to break through a lot of that stuff to live a pretty fun life. Travel a ton both domestically and internationally, I get out and play in the dirt as much as I can, have a pretty fun job, make decent money, etc. but the amount of fear when talking to people of the similar generational title is alarming. Fear of funds, fear of terrorism, fear of neighbors, etc.... it's depressing and we only have ourselves to blame; we let fear win.
The older generations has...
- Allowed education to become extremely expensive

The abundance of government-backed loans for tuition has allowed colleges to increase their tuition.

Many in our society insist on making more tuition money available to an ever-widening group of people. After all, it's only fair!

Thankfully the USA just a couple months ago has started trying to reel in the out-of-control federal student loan subsidies.

But here in Canada we are making a laughable attempt to resolve this problem by pouring more money into student aid programs. Who knows, maybe pouring enough gas on a fire will put it out.

But to address your original point, at least something is finally being done about this problem, at least in your country.

There is zero irony in it. Matthes was never a part of this conversation. Cherry picking examples like this does not strengthen your points, its a red herring argument. The OP cherry picked a one night out with a group of girls he didnt even know to make a generalization. His argument is flawed, dont make the same mistake if you want to be taken seriously.

For the record I personally straddle the line of millenial being born in '82. I dont consider millenials boring or lazy.

I would say my response was more efficient than boring or lazy; you understood exactly what I wanted to express in under a second (a picture truly is worth a 1,000 words).

But again, I didn't slam the guy, I only pointed out that at the same time in which we are having a discussion about how the "younger generation is lazy" on a motocross board there is a WHOLE THREAD dedicated to convincing one of the most recognizable members of our small moto community (of the older generation) on THE SAME MOTOCROSS BOARD that they should work out SO THEY DON'T DIE.

I'll give it to you that Matthes wasn't a bullet point in the original conversation but his inclusion is not only far from "cherry picking" or a "red herring argument" but it is literally the definition of irony.

Apparently a new micro generation has been created, 77-84, called xenialls.

I'm 82, my girlfriend is 92, and for some things, there are big differences. She's attached to her phone more than me ( and I have a pre teen child), and when her and her friends get together the seem really "young". Also much more social media use. More instagram, more fb, more snapchat.

Not bad, just different.
