Watched a replay again this morning. I don't think there is a rider in the history of the sport that could have beat Tomac last night. He was attacking that track and just laying waste to it. Really fun to watch!

Different points career wise. RD has had plenty of holy shit rides in his time too.
He's had some good rides, but stompings? He's generally worn people down or started from the front and been consistent as hell. Can't think of too many crazy rides where he's gone from nothing to win or close...

Stewart came from 14th. Not even close to Torontos performance. Stewart probably turned in the best ride in SX history that night. Carmichael in Pontiac 2002 is second. Chad Reed in San Diego 2005 was impressive. Tomac really only had Anderson that is a normal front runner to get around tonight. Everyone else he passed are top 5-10 guys. He rode awesome tonight for sure, but that ride he put in to get 2nd behind Dungey earlier this season was more impressive to me.
Not even close? Pfft.

Stew had a decent year in 2014 with a handful of wins but he wasnt the fastest guy at most of the races. Thats what made his Toronto ride so exciting for the guys in the booth. If he had caught and dropped a healthy Villopoto it would be a different story. Tomac didnt have to pass Marvin but there was a point where marv was right behind him and looked like he might make a pass but then he couldnt keep up with Tomac as he cut throught the rest of the field.

the Toronto track in my opinion was way more technical, who cares though I was blown away lastnight by eli performance! epic ride!

There you go! I'm not downplaying Eli's ride last night. I was stoked! However, Toronto 14 had the guys in the booth going ape shit. Windham, Shaheen and Emig talked about it the whole race. You didn't get that as much last night. Track in Toronto was insane!

I forget which race but stew did catch and drop a healthy poto, maybe dallas '14? He made a block past right before the whoops. Stew in toronto was an awesome ride, tomac tonight was absolutely not going to be denied. I was a little worried with how shitty of a start tomac got and dungey was gone out front. If dungey loses this title will it ignite a fire to try and get it back one more time or will he call it a career?

After seeing the track I thought it was going to be a boring race compared to Seattle. Boy was that wrong. He sure did make it exciting. Maybe he should start with his bike turned off next weekend

Whatever he's got in his thermos must be some good shit!

For real though, the dude was on the edge of eating shit every lap, he was close to his tipping (over the bars) point for sure. When he doesn't throw it away he does things that no one would have ever thought possible. Man it's fun to watch him ride.

The only time i saw him almost eat shit was on lap 2 when he was fighting with tickle and cased the shit out of the rhythm before the finish line. Rest of the time looked like the same level of control he always exhibits.

Can't believe it hasn't been mentioned that Tomac was able to pull this off without adderall. Woohoo

The thing that made it even crazier is he didn't really have any special rhythm sections that he found...like james bunny hopping the wall jump, a quad...etc. He was essentially riding the same rhythms and lines as everyone else but just absolutely attacking them like a bat out of hell. I think that makes it even more special. He literally was just scrubbing harder than anyone, corner speed was astonishing, and he just held it on longer than anyone. To go that much faster while pretty much riding the same lines as everyone else is really something special. He just wanted it more than anyone and was riding that track to its absolute limit. So many people complain about 1 line tracks and tracks being hard to pass....Eli and Dungey have shown thats not the case if you're faster than everyone by a long shot.
