So many nice bikes in this thread.

Just out of interest, what do ya'll do for a living to be able to buy new bikes and trick them out?

One can only dream of buying a '17 bike... or even a new Yosh pipe...

Do those Hinson clutch covers lose there black coating like stock?
Depending on your skill level they can last forever. I have a buddy with 180 hours on his 13 Hinson cover and it still looks new. i tend to get about 20-25 hours out of them before there is a wear ring around the inner edge.

Racetech stuff is always dialed, I switched to them about 8 years ago and I find it works very well. I have a local installer do everything for me and we test it quite a bit.
I actually haven't done anything to the header besides remove the guard. Crappy 93 octane turns it

Bikes look great im happy honda went back to what works. I bet for the next version the black part of the radiator shroud will be red like Akira Naritas bike. I dont believe this is his bike, but looks great none the less. Black rims stock as well would be great as the silver rims look too stock if you know what I mean.

They really need to drop the dual pipes, as cool as it looks its not worth it for the added weight. They can drop 5 pounds over night if they run a single exhaust giving the 2018 bike a reason right off the bat to buy it-weight savings. Electric start and a single exhaust will make this bike even better than it already is, and its already a great bike. Its good to see the Japanese manufacturers really stepping it up now and even Suzuki looks like its about to be a problem. Hell that may even be one of the best bikes out for the majority of riders skill levels when its released. Well see.

They last far longer than stock. I think it's got a hard anadizing on it.

I personally like the fact that the bike still comes with silver rims. Let's people add their "touch" to thier bike and be different with black rims and what not.

I do believe coming with the e-start from the factory would be a smart business move though and get that many more people to buy the already amazing bike.

EC situation is interesting...the bike is already very popular - biggest seller in Australia out of all the 450's despite its late arrival (was posted on a magazine site), although not sure of sales elsewhere in the world.

I agree they may sell more if it came as standard, but I am sure they would want to lose weight elsewhere to compensate for it.

How many of you are getting the electric start installed? If so what is the going rate at the dealerships for the full install (battery, labor and parts)? Is Honda doing anything in the US for those who purchased the bikes new from dealerships?

Nope, Honda is not doing anything for the US people. I work at a dealership, called my Honda rep directly and he said that they were not doing anything.. Sucks, but it is what it is.

I got the e-start and what I did was get the installation instructions from Honda(I can send to anyone who needs it) and started the process myself. I removed all the wiring harness and other parts that needed to come off before it got to the motor work. Once it got to that point, I took it to a guy I used to work for and he finished it off with doing the motor work and putting the new wiring harness in and what not. Saved me a few bucks and following the steps to get to the motor work was EASY!

Too bad they are 4x the price as stock. Crazy they get $200+ for 3 ounces on aluminum.

Here's mine. Yoshimura exhaust, vortex ignition, and KYB Factory Kit Suspension. This bike rips and I haven't had any problems with it so far.

I'm a 200lb Vet expert rider. I thought it was a great bike stock, but the forks were too soft and it ran a little erratic off idle. The vortex ignition fixed that and now it has considerably more bottom and top. I'm not sure how much of that was due to the ignition versus the exhaust because I put them on at the same time. The vortex works with your map selector switch turning it into a launch control. You can change between 10 maps on the ignition unit. It's very linear and deceivingly fast. I kind of miss the midrange hit the stocker had sometimes, but it's easier to go fast on now. You can lug it a gear high out of tight corners and it just keeps pulling forever, so there's no need to change gearing now.

It's probably the easiest starting bike I've had, so there's no way I want to add weight of ES.

I only have one ride on this kit suspension, but I can report that it's plush, doesn't bottom out and the bike handles better. I'm going to compare with a buddy who got his revalved/sprung next time.

I just noticed the new bikes look like the swingarm is about 3 inches too short lol. They are nice bikes though, it was a touch decision between one and the new Katoom.

Finishing up production of our dual system. I'm happy to report that we woke up the bottom part of the power band without taking away mid to top. We'll be shipping brushed aluminum muffler systems in a couple weeks. The black hard ano version will be a few more weeks. Vital members receive a 20% discount. Kind of bummed that the radiator shrouds aren't smooth in the center and for me needs to be white. Instead of Red in the back.

Put a few hours on mine now here in nz.
Pumped on the bike but first race day was one to forget . Let's just say i have braces on the way. Here is a pic before a nice gold chain and red twin ring was installed And i have a renthal fat bar odi lock on grips, in white/black and moto seat cover on now.
I have a question for others runing a 50 tooth? I run into clearance problems with lower chain guide , there's not much to them and the sproket is to close causing to much drag. I recomend making sure you run wheel stock postion or more back. Anyone find this?
