I find this very intriguing. Why would the practice bike be setup different than the race bike? I can't imagine practicing on a different setup than what you would run in the race.

it almost sounds like he rides it on the rev limiter more than some people.

Factories.... WHATEVER their $$$ bank acct have always ran different suspension than the weekly practice bike.

That's why you see the suspension going home all wrapped up snug-as-a-bug-in-a-rug at the airport Sunday morning with the mechanic.

But if your every day practice bike is setup different than your race bike how can you be completely competent on the race bike? I'm not trying to say they don't do it because I have no idea, it just doesn't seem logical to me.

The cost factor involved in keeping the "race-day" setup, on a practice bike would be astromomical..... therefore they get the practice bikes as close as they can get.

First of all that would have been his "test" bike... That would be the bike that is in California and they take to the test track and try out different settings and parts before changing it onto the "practice" and "race" bike. His "practice" bike would be in Florida at his house....
I would say everything is IDENTICAL on the bike. Factory riders practice with the same setup they race with.

You're 6 points ahead, can't get a holeshot to save your life, and you opt to ride a "beater" practice bike?. No wonder he's losing

i got it, i got it... the factories make the PRACTICE bikes buck the riders all over the place so that on race day, the REAL bike, feels like a '76 Cadillac El Dorado cruisin down the I-5. DUH.

Usually the suspension cames from Japan with a techincian and a shit load of parts. The bike is really fine, he just needs a good start. Is this sounding like Larocco??

Funny shit there!! I'm sure Goose had both bikes set up and ready to go came down to what one Speedy Reedy wanted to throw his leg over.I'm sure both bikes were capable of winning with the right rider. It might have been Mikes bike hehehe

Tedesco complained about Suzuki putting him on a practice bike when he was over there, then he signed with Honda, the team that puts more money into racing than anyone else and which has the best equipment available to man. He's not doing any better on those bikes than he did on the "practice" Zukes.

Those guys have the best motorcycles that the teams can build. End of discussion. If Reed chose one bike over the other, it was because he thought it was better for the conditions.

It's all misdirection and subterfuge. If you read between the lines, everything that's been 'rumored' about the Suzuki team has revolved around the disrespect MA has gotten since CR joined up. Therefore, you could extrapolate that the practice bike in question was actually Mike's. Furthermore, I wouldn't be surprised if it was Mike riding the practice bike and Reed getting the bike that's been getting the better starts. Countdown commencing,,,,,,
