Dungey's riding is the equivalent of the "prevent defense" in football.... Take a lead late in the game, play it super safe and end up losing because you played it safe. No other rider on that track would have followed Reed around the main line waiting for him to pull over. Dungeys incredible shrinking lead is going buh-bye soon because of him playing it safe.

More importantly did Marvin pull a gutless move and let Dungey have second? Yes

Take whatever you want with the Reed / Dungey experience, but Marvin is absolutely on team orders. This was the most obvious thing talked about at the race, way before Reed didn't pull over.
Ok.....you must have been in the meeting....

Ding ding ding. We have a winner with the correct answer!
I thought it was actually pretty cool when I saw it. As in a show of sportsmanship to the Championship contenders as they went by. Unfortunately, THEY didn't go by, and we all know the rest is history!

If Marvin did lay up instead of pushing for Dungey and passing him. That's two more points. If he wins the championship by 2 that's huge for Dungey and KTM....

Yes it's all speculation, it's pure biased speculation also that he wasn't laying up when in fact he could have been. Nobody knows, but It's a moto forum and people like to talk about these scenarios. Atleast we have a close championship and there is this crap to talk about. Cool

What was Reed doing in 16th in the first place? For three laps he ran in the 53 second range, showing he was well capable of that sort of lap time. Yet prior too and after the incident he was running high 55's, 56's. Why wasn't he pushing it when Dungey wasn't around? It's not like he was running the leaders pace at 53, but it should be better than a 16th place rider.

So when Dungey comes by he could give it his all, but doesn't feel the need to the rest of the race?

Thank you! All it does is,"prevent" you from winning!
