I got the CF tank a while back from BlackDiamond also. Amazing quality! Really cleans up the seat/tank area.

So I've got a question, I'm installing the CRF dampener on the CR on the neck of the frame, my question is where is the best area to relocate the CDI to???

Wonder if the mount off an 08' crf would be compatible?

The 2013/16 crfs are mounted inside the frame just above the front sprocket...

Yeah I don't think the 08 mount would work because the CR CDI is much bigger, I've been playing with different places and it seems like the cylinder motor mount area is going to be the area

I have 2012 triple clamps so bottom bolts right up and they make a bracket that goes in place of where the CDI is mounted

Im thinking about adding a dampner to my 03. How much was that bracket? And who is Mac? I already have a set of 22mm offset clamps off of an 08 crf. Just need the mount and the dampner.

You can get them on ebay or their website for $80

Thanks. Been looking at that. Have you ridden it with the damper yet. What is your opinion of the difference?

No I haven't ridden it on a CR yet, but suppose to keep it more planted in a corner

So I've come to the conclusion that the best spot for the CDI will be under the top of the frame by the cylinder engine mount, directly above the carb. Should be away from heat and ample room for the wires and a bracket to be put in place. I temporarily zip tied it in place to check clearances for everything.

Went to work on mounting the CDI but then I got distracted and modified the top motor mounts, they didn't turn out perfect since I don't have any of the proper tools but still look good

Worked on making a bracket for the CDI mount today. Found a couple old hand guard mounts and spent about 2 hours making it into the bracket to hold the CDI plate. In the first picture (on the left) is the mount I started with and the finished product on the right.

Finished my bracket and CDI is installed, have good clearance all the way around and decent distance from heat.

Was cruising through Moto120's thread and liked his CF radiator cap that he put on so I snagged one also. Trick little packaging it comes in too.

Thats what i figured and how ive done mine, second question, are you postive your 2012 crf akit shock was the same length as the stock shock? I have a 2012 crf450 showa akit shock and i just scored a full set of 2015 crf 450 pro circuit showa sff akit suspension with triple clamps, the fronts no issue since i already had 2015 triple clamps with the steering damper n all but i had spoke to graeme brough, he did blackdiamonds suspension, he said the rear shock would need a different clevis and hes right, i measured my stock shock and eye to eye its 50cm, then both the '12 and 15 shocks are the same at 48cm and that 2cm is just enough to where i cant put it on because the brings the swigarm n linkage up just enough to where i cant get the lower bolt in, sure i could put the bottom bolt in first n then do the top but that 2cm puts the rear wheel up who knows how much, also the subframe... you had no issues clearance wise there? I already knew id have to trim the shroud but the shock body where it comes up n off for the compression adjuster hits the subframe to the point that i cant put the subframe on, im gonna checj the 2012 shock but i believe itll be the same issue cus i put the '12 against the '15 and their identical, same length, same length clevis and the bodies look identical, i could be wrong but i doubt it. Also idk why but my akit shock clears the upper shock mount with no issue, i dont need to trim a thing. Im just trying to figure why im having different fitment issues than you and why yours is the same length as the oem shock. The length isnt a huge concern cus i can get a cr250 akit clevis and put it on n that will correct the length issue, its the fitment uptop that puzzles me cus ours should be identical, both 07, both have the same akit shock, worst comes to worst i can notch the subframe and weld an aluminum slug into it to keep it rigid and strong but id prefer not to, i added a pic of my front end
