Best place to buy Oakley sunglasses?

Edited Date/Time 11/30/2018 3:35am
What sites have real deals on real Oakley sunglasses? Difficult to tell between the real and phony sites.

All the sites are going to have the same prices. Oakley dealers cannot advertise a discounted price or they could possibly lose their account. Best thing to do is go into a local shop and bargain with them

www.oakleyvault.com - This is Oakley's "outlet" site. Late models, good deals. Don't expect to find a specific pair of glasses, but sometimes they have some cool models. Also, every once in a while they have moto goggles.

There used to be a sunglass shop here in town that sold Oakleys. When the shop closed, the owner told me he had to send all the Oakley branded posters, displays, merchandise, everything back to Oakley. They are quite protective of their prices and brand.

My last three pairs have been the Fox Decorum glasses. Good stuff! Was always an oakley guy, I have to wear glasses all the time, light coloured eyes, so appreciate good ones. Try em out!

In UK there are Sunglass Hut shops in malls like Mc Arthur Glen East Midlands and Cheshire Oaks who do some great deals on Oakleys!

That was eye opening, no pun intended. So Oakley gave in to them. Thanks for that.

Good info right there. Funny how they did not want to answer her questions. Sounds like they are trying to become a monopoly...

The Mall...

That's just epic.

The Mall...

Next time someone gives me that "Main-stream versus Core" argument? I'm digging this thread up.

The Mall.

I get mine directly from the Oakley site, before Luxottica took over. There really aren't any deals anyway, as described in this thread, but if you order from Oakley direct you may get free engraving or a hard case, as well as being able to customize them to suit your personal preferences. The glasses that are carried in retail stores are all very basic. Same frame, lenses, and other components. Referring primarily to M frames.

You know Oakleys are made by the same company that make pretty much every other make of sunglasses out there right?...Luxottica

The majority of manufacturing for Oakley is still done out of their facility in Foothill Ranch, CA. The metal frames come from China, but all lenses, plastic frames, hinges, goggles and rubber pieces are made in-house at that facility.

I can not wear polarized lenses, causes tremendous headaches.
But I love their Flak Jacket XLJ's. I've had the pair I currently own for 6 years and have another pair in my sock drawer as backup.

eBay is the best place to grab them.

If they are on sale for $25.99 then they ain't Oakleys. Get a part time job at a motorcycle dealership that sells Oakley and buy them with your employee discount. You wont find Oakleys on sale unless its a going out of business or clossout sale but those are few and far between. I remember when the Oakley reps would be buying up all the Foakleys (fake oakleys)from the local flea markets long before the internet but now trying to get the fake ones off the market is like trying to take pee out of a public swimming pool.

I remember reading in a mag like Fortune or Inc 500 they cost 3 bucks back then. Maybe 5 to make today.

Same price as the stores. Exactly how you want them, etching and all. There are literally thousands of combinations for every pair. All the stores stock the same generic spec sunglasses. It's pretty much the same process as ordering a vehicle, only more choices. When you select one option, it affects the available options in subsequent choices, so there are some limitations to protect us from our questionable tastes.Grinning

I got an awesome pair in Tijuana for like $10. Chinatown is a good place too.

This may sound weird but it's better to find some used ones in good shape. Since the company was sold the quality has gone down.

I gets a free pair every year. My health insurance covers it. Go to eye Dr for a check up & see if your insurance will cover them.

Yep, I was gonna mention Midway having them on sale on a pretty regular base. For those that don't know, Midway USA is an outlet geared toward gun, hunting and outdoor enthusiast. So, most of the ones they carry are not the latest, most fashion focused models. I've also bought them on sale at Motosport Outlet.
