Will there be no nationals next year? Only a few? No factory riders? Has anyone heard what the attitude of the factory teams is about this?

You need to quit reading European web sites.

The current temperature seems to be a little cooler as far as boosting the number of races.

Don't read the European websites just saw a post JT$ posted in a Roczen thread and it got me to thinking about it. I'm personally a much bigger fan of the nationals. I hope you are correct.

Heading straight to Anaheim 7 after Red Bud then off to Stockholm for round Thirty-Two.

I think I'm done with the sport if Supercross ever takes over completely. It's just a placeholder until the good stuff starts, in my book.

This is exactly how I have always described SX to my riding buddies.

It was one of the options being bounced around.

You can't win the supercross title in the first 15 races but you can surely lose it.

Simple answer to this, come ride the GP's.

You should be either an SX rider or MX rider.

World GP Motocross is the most prestigious title, it's time the US got involved.

Sound advice. I bet Roczen will be calling you soon about being his agent.

Riders are contractually obligated to 16 SX races. There might be some interesting contract issues by trying to extend SX season longer.

If SX was extended say to 20 or 22 or 24 races I think you would have a definite shift in the entire landscape of racing. I think teams would choose one series over the other and I think you would have teams racing one series over the other. You would have SX specialists and you would have MX specialists.

In the US I'm not sure there is enough interest, money, support etc to support two specialized series. I could see a situation where MXGP expands into the US and picks up say four US outdoor tracks and adds them to the MXGP circuit and basically the US MX racing as we know it today would be gone.

Just a theory...

Just a thought, it seems that the more diehard moto consumers go out and attend an Outdoor National. I would say they are the ones that still regularly ride and/or race, spend money with their local dealerships and tend to support rider and team sponsors more than the casual Supercross fan. I would be interested in maybe 16 to 20 Supercross rounds, 8 to 10 Nationals were you ride either 250 or 450 all season. You can still have a Supercross and National champ but then award an overall championship. You can also run them were they different disciplines are mixed, similar in IndyCar how you have a road course for a few weeks than an oval race thrown in This could make for a few more ride being available too. Then at the end of the season, you have 1 single big purse event and the top 20 in points from the 250 and the 450 class go head to head. This event could be alternated every year between a Monster Energy Cup race and an Outdoor Style event the next season or even do 1 Supercross and 1 National at the end of the year as a combined Super Bowl type champion.

There are 52 weekends in a year.... Even with 25 SX races...that would leave roughly 27 (using my math) more weekends for Nationals and whatnot....

No. L.A./Venice. That's Amanda Rau with Q Models. Rides that CB all the time.

The way I see it, supercross sells gear, energy drinks and ad space. Outdoors sells bikes. OEMs won't let the outdoors die because mx fans buy dirt bikes.
