But the Thor stuff isn't compression. It's a slimmer style fit, but notcompression material. It's also a one piece jersey, not a two piece bib with seperate compression jersey like Seven. (Which has been mentioned multiple times that AXO was the first to do that design).
I know that.. but even though Thor stuff wasnt exactly the same as Seven, it was damn close, and to me looked like they copied the style without exactly copying it.

The Thor gear also is designed to 'look' like its a two piece jersey. It has tight sleeves and faux over-jersey. Same with the new Shift stuff.

I hope some gear companies keep making the stuff that fits normal people cause I sure as fuck don't look like Kenny....more like JoJo Keller.

Every time somebody links that AXO jersey from 09 I can't help but laugh, it looks like somebody fucked up a bodyboarding wetsuit and threw some logos on the fix it up with some tribal images.

Hahaha I laughed out loud to this. The compression gear looks horrid. God I hope that doesn't become the new style. It looks like ass.

Someone should tell Malcolm to delete that shit from his account. Terrible PR for SEVEN. There are already people out there that won't buy SEVEN purely because of it's cost and other factors... having the little brother publicly post that all the other brands equate to a pile of shit emoji... not cool

AXO beat everyone to compression type jerseys, but it didn't catch on until a major company started doing it.
What company are you referring to that is bigger than AXO?

Yeah hard to sympathise with the Stewart's current situation given how intent they seem on burning bridges within the industry.

I think it's pretty dumb to say that the Thor and Shift gear are Seven knockoffs. Form fitting jerseys are hardly a ground breaking concept. The Thor stuff doesn't look all that similar and Shift have been doing minimalist designs since before Seven was around. Vexea is obviously a different story, the design and colourways are almost identical, they even photograph and promote it in almost exactly the same way.

Have the pros been cycling too much? This looks like spandex to me. Looks decent on the young kids but I saw a vet trying to pull it off and...yeah

I understand the Shift and Thor comparison, but what does Vexea have to do with it? Do they copy colorways or what?

At least those brands are out on track getting some exposure.

Vexea is a true knockoff. Even the promotional pictures are exactly the same as the early Seven promo pictures.

There has been threads about the Vexea vs Seven deal.

I can't see why people would think that the new Shift stuff looks like past Seven gear? Shift has been using that logo since 2011 with Reed, that is years before Seven even started. And Shift has been using clean, no nonsense designs for 6 years.

And the whole compression thing was started by AXO.

I don't care that it is or isn't, the slim fit look whatever you want to call it. Like I said, bike shorts, under armour, skins, etc... they did that first. And Seven were behind AXO for MX also.

I'm answering the people saying it graphically looks like this or that...
Oi it got the better of me so I went looking for that butt patch pic that you've prob forgotten about me mentioning on here haha anyhoo found it

Malcolm definitely knows how to attract future sponsors whilst sitting on the sidelines with no ride.

Well, there's going to be a significant part of the market - Fat Old Bastards (Me) that these styles will never sell to.

Remember the description of Arnold Schwarzenegger - him looking like a condom full of walnuts? Well, a fair few of us, in tight gear, might just look like a condom full of what it was designed to be 'filled' with.............. Sick Baggy stuff for me - always!

Definitely, AXO seem to have got to this 'new' style, a long time before others.

I really love Malcolm, but IMO he needs to start acting professional and represent the brand Seven in a positive way. It is a free market, so ofcourse the bigger brands will hop in on a new era of compression gear and stuff. Seven by the way did something like this too. They had a picture on Instagram with the text 'giving imitators something to imitate'. Not really that smart, in my eyes

You do realize that he created his own ride right?

The stewarts don't need outside support, They could do what chad did for years and still walk away set for life.

ML you're about as good as differentiating gear styles, and when they were brought into the market as you are at bike reviews

That last concussion took it's toll ay?

The Vexea designer came from Seven.

My conversation is about materials and their effects on design, not styles. Well, I still get paid to ride motorcycles and I keep getting handed more and more bikes...so I must be doing something right.

Actually, yes, my last concussion was quite the doozy, thanks for your concern.

As for timelines, Thor's Primefit jersey was released late summer of 2015. Which by the way Thor designs, creates, and pre-books gear with dealers...that means it was roughly finished in fall of 2014. This means the design stage of that jersey began in early 2014 if not late 2013.

The new gear material reminds me of the pajamas my kids wore made by Smooth Industries
