Going to take the family to Dodge this weekend. Kids are loving skiing.

Those are regular county roads, not just trails through fields.......

Dodson Road?
No, from the sound of the Sheriff's posts these are sort of NW of Ephrata, like you are going through the coulee up towards Waterville/Rimrock.

I used to live just over the Frenchman Hills on Dodson back in the early 90s. Windy as hell. Lots of drifts there, too, but the worst I've seen have been just above Hwy 28 from Quincy to Ephrata.

We have 9 feet as of yesterday morning at our mtn place. I rode in on the sled from the main road about 3.8 miles in.

Ive never ridden so much over the head snow at this low of elevation.
Yesterday was kinda clear and burned up a full tank of gas in 20 miles which was probably 10.

We have another foot since this AM. A few snotel sites are reporting 15 feet plus in places.
Fired up the trusty Kubota cleared some snow around shop doors. This is gonna help the reservoirs. We severely needed a normal or above year.

The Shop

I'll get some pics up here in just a bit. Been shoveling snow and started clearing my front yard tree that split it half. The governer declared a state of emergency i guess. Not suppose to get above freezing until possibly Monday. One scary thing I'm dealing with are those huge limbs that broke off behind my shop. It's a total disaster area around here. Fucking trees down every where.

We also broke a 130 year record in the last 24 hours. Never had this much snow in that short of time.
Shovel snow? I've got now 10 feet of new now and I aint shoveling anything except enough to get in the door. Itll melt someday.

Wont be long and we'll be bitching its too hot out.

I drive Frenchman Hills to Dodson and go North every morning. Frenchman Hills stays Snow paked and Dodson has been mostly clear in the afternoons with a few ice patches. You are right up by Martin Rd (11 NW) the roads were being overtaken with drifts when I was by there the other day, between Quincy and Winchester. Going to Coulee City from Soap Lake on Pinto Ridge was starting to get shitty as well. Stay Safe out there

That can be a desolate drive!

I lived just over the hill on the south facing slope on Dodson. I actually kind of liked living in Royal City, but my ex-wife hated it!

There's a guy in Royal who used to have an epic ride place, I think they even did the world record jump by the kid from Ephrata, Alex Harvill, down there. I'm told he closed it down a few years back, but it used to be great. Steve had an accident when he was a kid and lost most of the fingers on his throttle hand, so they sewed some toes on it their place, and everyone called him Toes because of that. Great guy, but I haven't been fortunate to see him in a bunch of years.

Here's a pretty cool video from a couple of years ago that shows how they try to mitigate avalanche issues on Stevens Pass. Pretty cool if you ever just see those tanks driving around up there before they set them in place!

I drive from moses to wanapum dam everyday and can't believe all the winter were having. You're right...Quincy - Ephrata was terrible....huge drifts. Guys commute from all over and a couple up Martin Road area couldn't get out Tuesday morning. My mother in law comes from West of Odessa to Moses for us to watch kids and the drifts are crazy out there and the roads get almost no attention at all. Should make for awesome Spring riding.

Here in Tri-Cities we have a record amount of snow in about 63 years! Our winters here are usually pretty mild, last 3 years we barely had a few inches of snow. But this year we have had approximately 20" of snow... I know that is not alot for most of you guys but that is really awesome here! I love this weather.

Been a crazy winter. Last week in Saskatchewan, it was -30, with a foot of snow on the ground. This week, 40 mph winds, and temps well above freezing. Same as where I live, in the foothills of Alberta, but the winds and warm temps are pretty common there. Not unusual to be out doing motos in the middle of winter.
