You may be an exception, but there are differences in generations. I'm not saying one is better than the other, but to ignore the different thought processes would be what would be ignorant. Read some of the research before you make statements that are nothing but your opinion.
You aren't wrong.

I typically base my opinions on facts. There are some stats that show "we" as people (not just millennials) are more productive and paid less when you factor in inflation...but that is all a different story.

For me, I do think I am the exception. I know a lot of other exceptions but that is because of how I and the people around me were raised (midwest farm boys). So it is hard to pull myself out of that segment of the population. The word still urks me.

Here is the real question, can someone translate what this means:

"it's going to end bad in both ways."

I have read it multiple times and can't understand what he is saying. What is going to end bad? And what are the ways?

This wasn't aimed at anyone's post buy my opinion. I may be wrong, the industry may of be playing these guys against each other, but if you want it bad enough you make your own way... Reed is still out there ! He should of seen this coming 3 months ago and I'm sure he has a Honda ALL dialed in and a van somewhere in there with all those vehicles they have. Unlike the rest of the world, if you want to be a musician in places like Nashville where there is MAJOR competition, you don't get paid to play bars, you play for tips but you get in and network with the top musicians in the world...

I however do not equate that to taking an entitled attitude, I am saying do it IN SPITE of everything and everyone against you, win/podium anyway !!! If he does not I agree here with you it will possibly look not so good to a monetarily struggling industry when you do have the resources unlike 98% of the other riders in the world....

There are differences in every generation.

I agree with the "raising" part and how that is a huge factor. You were probably raised with hard working people around you setting an example of how to make it in this world successfully. Kudos to you and hope I didn't come across as an ass.

I dont know if its actually come to a head as of yet, but I have to think the mentality of my generation will change not because they want to, but because they have to.

I am hoping that's the case. Actually praying its the case.

You could use the search function and "Josh Hill" or "Josh Hansen" to see how wrong you are. It has nothing to do with race and everything to do with a guy who has the financial backing to be at A1 if he chose to do so.

It's a forum. People will share their opinion. You'll survive. Just because it's not the same opinoion as yours, doesn't mean they shouldn't talk about it. Nice racebaiting btw. Have a super day.

Entitlement

Everybody believes their entitled--- not !!!!
(Current generation)

If you want it, roll up your sleaves and get at it.

I see it here and every day at work. I've never had that attitude
- my dad would of whooped my ass or pulled me out of bed by my ears to do chores. But he didn't have to.

If I had his skills and family money.... I'd be out there giving my 100% and having fun and knowing he gave his ALL!!

His window is now --- use some of that pent up anger/etc as motivation.

Ok... time to move along, rant over

As a millennial we are accused of being "entitled'

That word drives me up the wall. It is such an ignorant thing to say.

For Malcolm's situation: you have absolutely no clue what is going on in his life. Beyond that. He did roll up his sleeves. He busted his ass the last time he didn't have a ride. Bought his old TLD bikes and was ready to race. He went from no ride to a championship in very little time. In my mind the guy earned his spot. We all make bad decisions but I don't see Malcolm sitting out in front of Angel Stadium with his hand out begging for money. Where is his entitlement?

The truth of the matter is, in my opinion, he is entitled to a ride. I think a championship for a team should get you something. Otherwise, why is there so much pressure to win the damn things? A series of unfortunate events and decisions lead to him not getting one.

As for the word entitlement. I have been called that simply because of my generation. I'll never understand that. Personally, I worked 2 jobs while going to college. One as a full time web designer, the other as an on-call manager which required me to answer the phone and respond to calls from 5pm-8am M-F and 24 hours Sat/Sun. This was all on top of being a full time student. So that whole "entitlement" shit you are throwing around is horse shit from a different generation.

Except that your assuming Motoconcepts had Honda support prior JB10 signing with them. My understanding is JB10 is why Motoconcepts has the support from Honda, he brought it with him from his off season races and his relationship with Honda. Thats the importance of not burning bridges. An example the Stewarts could learn from. Unfortunately Mookie is feeling the hurt of James burning all his bridges. You truly think JGR went with Weimer over Mookie based on results or potential? JGR wants nothing to do with the Stewarts. The saying you make your own bed, well unfortunately James has made Mookies bed for him.

JBone said he offered the fill in ride to Malcolm but he turned it down. Guyb said it's because Malcolm is building his own team and didn't want to do that to the people helping him.

The whole thing of them having the means to go and do it on their own is a little lost on me. Sure it would show you passion for the sport and the fans would love it. What happens if they sink a bunch of money into a race team for themselves and get no offers going forward? Sure it worked out for Reed because he managed to have some very good results while doing his own thing but there is always the possibility that never happens and they are out a pile of money. Then what? You used all the money you could have lived off chasing a ride that never came and now you're passing burgers out windows.

I know no one expects them to use every last cent they have to go after this but if they don't want to spend their own hard earned money on it, they don't have to.

Game face on

And wait for the gate drop

That would earn more respect and fans

Would it show his work ethic?

Do you know what kind of bike he has or what equipment he has?

Does he even still have his Honda from Geico? Maybe he was planning on racing that all along and it has been taken back?

Does the Suzuki he have even have parts or suspension? When did he start riding it?

You cant just show up and race and have zero time on a bike. You might be able to do that at PC or E Street, but not at a supercross when there is more to lose than a possible factory ride.

Respect, I get that part of it, but if he goes out and looks like shit on a bike that he is not comfortable with, will that respect get him a ride or future help? Im going to guess, no.

White/black has absolutely nothing to do with why people are so upset. Its the speed and talent that we are going to be deprived of that is so "upsetting". To watch James going out the way he is and to watch (or should I say not watch) Malcolm with his style and speed. I think, at least for me anyway, that to see what is happening with the Stewarts is upsetting because most of us only get to dream of having that kind of talent and to know there's two guys out there just using it on practice tracks is such a waste.

Sorry if I hurt anybody's feels, not really but Im being polite. Roczen, dungey, canard, seely are not that "fun" to watch. Anderson has some "flare" and so does Reedy when he's on but it's still not like watching James and Malcolm.

Ha ha... you forgot MMX

If the Stewart's were white most of you would have no issues with their choices.

You could use the search function and "Josh Hill" or "Josh Hansen" to see how wrong you are. It has nothing to do with race and everything to do with a guy who has the financial backing to be at A1 if he chose to do so.
You know, people keep saying that just because James and the Stewart family probably have a degree of financial security that Mookie could be at A1 "if he wanted to". Maybe that's not true...maybe James and Big James want Malcolm to do things himself without leaning on the family. Maybe Malcolm wants to do that too. Maybe he refuses to let his family do it for him, maybe he says if he can't get on a team he won't do it at all. I don't know. Just seems like if Malcolm wanted to do it with the family checkbook, it would have been done by now.

There's a lot we don't know, I'm sure.
