Updated again...

I have noticed a couple threads referencing a few teams but not a full preview. Did a little research but still couldnt find too much. Please add/correct anything I have and I can update this.

Babbitt's Monster Energy Kawasaki
1 - Gavin Faith
90 - Jacob Hayes (finished 3rd last year but running 90??)
3 - Travis Sewell (finished 4th last year but running 3??)

GPF / Babbitts Kawasaki - AX Lites
- Jacob Williamson
- Cody Williams

Rockstar OTSFF Yamaha
2 - Chris Blose
101 - Matt Goerke
Blose won Canadian AX I thought I saw a PR on the main series but cant find it...

Tuf Racing TiLube Honda?
5 - Jace Owen?
6 - Ben Lamay?
I havent seen anything official on these two and the team's facebook page hasnt been updated since May. Lamays instagram says locked in for AX and references TiLube and Fly but not Tuf...

Rockstar Husqvarna?
Can't find any info on the team and didn't seem like it ended well last year. Team seems to be done.

?- Kyle Regal ????

4 - Gared Steinke - referenced on another thread on here that he is doing a private Kawasaki deal.

TZR - Sportland2 Kawasaki
TZR had a breakout year last year with their first race wins with Sewell, 2 riders in the top 10 (Sewell/Vanbuskirk), and first championship with Vanbuskirk winning Lites West. Sewell is now with Babbits and judging by their facebook page it looks like they are going to Kawasaki.
87 - Josh Osby
86- Scott Zont

Woodstock KTM / TZR
It seems TZR and Woodstock have split into 2 different teams but still working together.
7 - Cody Vanbuskirk
9 - Dan Herlein

Team DirtBikeMike KTM - AX Lites West
304 - Jeremy Wahlstorm
305 - Hunter Hilton
306 - Dylan Parun
307 - Jordan Giambelluca

Custom Power Sports Kawaski
200 - Mike McDade
- Ben Nelko
12 - Steven Mages
221 - Jake McKinney

Autorevo Powersports, Shawnee Motor Company, Suzuki
19 - Cheyenne Harmon AX and AX West Lites

Driven MX Racing. KTM
13 - Jared Lesher
28 - Chance Blackburn
32 - Jeramy Taylor
140 - Andy Daggett
161 - Vin Murphy

Other big names coming to AX:
Weimer? - I think it has been confirmed that he isnt doing AX now but was out there for a while.

Key Amateurs for Road to Supercross:
Cameron McAdoo
Lane Shaw
Tanner Stack

Travis is 3 by way of new numbering system, where top 10 chose a career 2 digit number if desired. The next guy in line could pick any number left available. So Hayes picked 90 that left 3 available... weird but yeah.

Herrlein #9, Vanbuskirk #7 on Woodstock KTMs with TZR support, also having acouple lites guys, while TZR Sportland Kawi will be more of Tom's own personal team with Osby #87 and Scott Zont #86.

Also looks like stank is #4 per the numbering system.

Couple of changes, actually. First is the new numbering system as richter28 mentioned above. Second is that they will now run black plates with white numbers opposed to white plates with black numbers.

Race Number:

Beginning in 2017 AMSOIL Arenacross will implement a new elite numbering system in the 250AX class:

• All elite numbers must be single or double digits, no three (3) digit numbers will be accepted for an elite number.
• The current champion must run the #1. The current champion will have first choice of any available elite number for the following season in the event that rider does not secure the championship.
• Positions 2-10 from the previous season will have next choice of available numbers, in that order. Only the top 10 each season will have the opportunity to earn an elite number. You are permitted to choose numbers 2-10 or any other two digit number for the current season based on availability.
• In order for a rider to maintain an elite number they must place in the top 20 in championship points. Once an elite numbered rider does not place in the top 20, then that number will be available the following season. No other rider will be eligible to use an elite number until that said rider is ineligible.
• All other numbers outside the top 10 are reserved on a first come first serve basis by registering for a credential. For credential information contact Rachel Tillman at Feld Motorsports at 800-216-7482 or e-mail: rtillman@feldinc.com

250AX Class Number Plates:

Front numbers must be a minimum height of 6 inches. Side numbers must be a minimum height of 51⁄2 inches.

• Black plate, white numbers
• Current Champion: Black plates, white no.1
• Points Leader: Red plates, white numbers (Red PMS #1788c)
• Race to the Ricky Carmichael Cup Contenders: Green Plates, (Green PMS #375c)
White Numbers.

Basically, AX now has its own version of career numbers.

Part of it at least became the Rockstar Yamaha team that Blose and Goerke are on.

To original poster, yes McAdoo does have to race AX prior to east SX. It'll be just enough to get points though. Guessing you will see his teammate Tanner Stack also.

Custom Power Sports has 4 riders also, Mike McDade, Ben Nelko, Steven Mages, and Jake McKinney for AX.

What a bummer. That Husky team had such a great look to them. Hope Regal has a deal he's stoked on.

At some point, Jayce Pennington will make a guest appearance for his "road to sx" points on a Traders Racing Yamaha.

I am almost ashamed to say I have never watched an actual Amsoil AX in person, but I will get to watch Atlanta this year!

you wont be disappointed. They are not mad for TV in my opinion. Tv does a great job with their production BUT Ax is way better in person.
