Per twitter he hit a soft spot on a face at the test track. Paige Craig tweeted that he only needs casts for a month and will still race east coast.

Fractured my right distal radius less than 4 weeks ago and haven't even worn a cast for the majority of the time and I could ride again if I wanted to (severe break in my left thumb though keeping me off the bike... have my second surgery for that in a few weeks), especially if I needed to at the professional level and had professional therapy, conditioning, ect. If they aren't bad breaks he should be good to go in not much time.

Man I really think there needs to be more done to help these kids transition into Supercross. I know they have the RC Arenacross which no doubt helps but it still seems that a lot of rookies really have a hard time adjusting. I know the sports dangerous no matter what track you're on, and I'm not saying Chase's crash was because he had no place being on Supercross track. Just to me there would be nothing worse than getting hurt before you ever even do a professional race.

I thought a 250 champion could defend their title one time?

I've seen him growing up riding, he's usually never hurt. I think these are the first 2 big injuries he's had in his career. Definitely not a AC or Bell.

Definitely sucks, get well soon Chase.

I think its time to just get rid of supercross all together, don't care how much money and TV time for the sport. Actual fans need to get dirty and go to outdoor races. All that shows up at SX is a bunch of posers wanting to drink beer. At least in the Midwest that's all that are there.

Craig made comment that (IG live) Chase should go first on wet test track cos he is c-group rider in SX practice...
It was good joke that time.

Did AC have serious injuries before his pro career?

3+ years in the class if you score over 125 points and win the championship on/after your third year, you don't have a chance to defend your title.

The only thing I can think of is a shoulder injury he sustained during his last year of amateurs, after Monster Cup and shortly before Mini O's in the Florida.

I don't disagree, I think the racing in the outdoors is much better just because of the more real estate to ride, makes it less of a follow the leader type situation. And you're right a large demographic of the people at a supercross like flat bill hats on backwards, drink Monster Energy and would rather wheelie a dirtbike than ride any track. Outdoors have true fans.
