I repaired this 250F Husqvarna for a friend of mine back in the summer, but it's a relatively hard ridden 2015 with about 40hrs on it.

All the 450 bikes are fast, some slightly more than others, how good the KTM/Husky's are is really your opinion not anyone elses, they may have a differing riding style, comfort level, etc so therefore what one person thinks doesnt mean it is the best for you.

My advice to any of my mates asking me what bike they should buy is how close they are to a dealership that sells the bike they want and how good are they in supporting you ...all dealerships are great when selling a bike but most arent great after then. Then if the dealerships are pretty even then you can start to get a little picky.

Finally, most people here who ask how good the KTM/Husky's are are never going to buy anything other than them anyway as they hate on the Japanese brands.

You lost me after the first paragraph..

I haven't heard of a single motor issue with the new generation KTM/Husqvarna 450.

The 250 on the other hand have had gearbox issues(new parts covered by KTM).

I can't speak of the 450 but as a diehard 2st guy who owns a 250SX, I can honestly say that my brothers 350SX is the best motorcycle that I have ever ridden. It made a believer of me and will be my next bike, probably this winter.

ktm 450 engine is nearly bulletproof.

light, great brakes, awesome chassis, and 17 aer fork is excellent.

The motor cranks out Huge power, but not hard hitting. While this can be improved hugely...frankly very few actually need this. just turn the throttle more if you want more... its there.

Pull the trigger. Light, fast and great suspension. Shootouts will confirm this.

So I just bought a brand new husky 350 and I don't have one bad thing so say about the bike. As far as reliability my buddy has over 100 hours on his Ktm 350 and all he's done is change oil. He's also raced worcs races and hammers the shit out of it. I was just looking and comparing the husky to the jap bikes before I bought it and they just to me look like a better built machine.
You gotta keep us updated on that I'm thinking of trading my 12 Kx250f for a new crf 450 or husky 350 as I do like what I hear about those 350 engines, hydraulic clutches and weight

After owning over 10 Honda 450s since 2002 I decided to switch to something different. Bought a 2016 FC450 last year and got my new 2017 early August. These have been the best bikes I've owned... light and smooth, hydraulic clutch and electric start. Honda's latest effort will come up short again, but I will hold final judgement till I ride one.
