About time for new tires on my 450...what should I buy? I haven't owned a 450 since 2007 and a bit out of the what "hot" right now. Any suggestions would be helpful!

I really, really like the Pirelli MX32(in my opinion better than the Dunlop mx32 or mx3s).

I haven't tried the new Michelin Starcross 5 tires.

I've been running starcross 5s. They are durable, super easy to mount, and have great traction.

If you piss money and DGAF - Dunlop mx32 or 3s
If you're goin bottom dollar but still want quality - Bridgestone
If you've got a few bucks up front and want longevity - Michelin Starcross 5

Just my opinion Silly

Also depends what kind of terrain you ride...

Pirelli Scorpion MX32 Pro mid to soft terrain. I mounted this tire for the OTHG National at LACR, 1 practice day, 4 moto's and last weekend practice out a Argyll and it is showing signs of knobby wear already......it really hooks up nice, but will come at a price.

The XtraX which offers a little more "crossover" with regards to changing track conditions, For what it's worth, I've been using the same XtraX since last Nov when I mounted it. The tire has at least 26 moto's on it along with several practice days. Mind you, this is on a 250 2 stroke, ridden by a 50+ Vet OTHG. This tire works really really well when the track is wet and deep in the morning and if the track dries up and get hard pack late afternoon still works really well. This was the only tire I used for AMA West Hare scrambles...really a good tire. I've flipped this tire once since Nov.

I raced my buddies YZ250 back in Sept and he had a Battlecross X20 rear and Pirelli Pro 32 front and I was pretty impressed with the Battlecross X20 on a track that was wet and ripped pretty deep for the morning moto, then afternoon it dried up a bit and became harder packed. That X20 was still hooking up for a soft terrain tire. As for long term durability, can't speak on the X20.

I run dunlop mx3s front and rear and would recommend those, pretty cheap and really good tires.

Just went through an article on MXA covering MX3S Do they really cost over 100$ a tire in the US?!

Love my Bridgestone m203/m204 combo on my yz250.
I bought a couple pair for short money(50 rear, 70 front) @ motosport last month.
they seem fine to me, I ride mainly soft loam/sand...but I honestly don't know if I would know the difference between tires.

What terrain do you ride on most often? That makes a big difference. I ride on mostly intermediate terrain MX tracks with some sections that would be considered soft. MX 32s work great but don't last. Bridgestone 203/204 combo also works great and lasts a bit longer. I haven't tried the new B-Stones or Michelins but I've heard good things.

I ran a starcross 5 medium up here in NE. First time for the 5's for me. Tire went on really easy. Went to the mx track it was sandy on top with a hard base, tire hooked up well and didn't seem to wear much. Next race I did a Jday and was only able to do one 30 min Moto.

Soft dirt with roots and some rocks. In that 30 minutes I ripped 3 knobs off that tire. Wtf? Tire has all of 1 hr on it and I'm short 3 knobs, not too impressed with that. Anybody else had this problem?
