I call BS on Jimmy turning down factory Suzuki support for his team. There's no way he turns that down so he can be a privateer next year like he said in the podcast. I suspect Suzuki didn't like something about the program so they gave the support to JGR instead. This is purely speculation on my part and not to be taken as fact.
IT could have been you do this and we want you to take this... as in another certain 450 rider who Suzuki is trying to help find a home for.

I have a feeling Suzuki pulled support when MS dropped out. I remember hearing the rumor that MS Team would be the Factory 250 effort for next year recently but if there is no money there is no reason to supply bikes and parts

I talked to some folks at Suzuki and Yoshimura, they confirmed that it was Jimmy's decision. On Jimmy'a end, it had to with not wanting to leave some people that have had his back always, so I understand why he did it.

These contract issues are not unique to the MX industry. Generally not worth the paper they are written on unless you have plenty of money and time to sue or defend. Even if you are on the right side of it. Im not an attorney, and there can be exceptions, but I have seen contractual issues in many instances (including MX).

Often times, one side (or both) realizes you cant get blood from a stone and its just better to move on.

Do you think it was a dumb decision by Jimmy Michael? In al fairness i do understand why he did it but he must have realised this is probably a one of opportunity and could possibly launch his future carreer.

You are incorrect and probably do not realize how deep his roots are with FMF. He's a very loyal guy and didn't want to be told how to run his own team by Yoshimura. Not hard to understand why he did it. You can take this as FACT !!

I'm sure it was tough to turn down the factory Suzuki offer, but I bet he didn't even take long to make his decision. Just my honest opinion.

I stand corrected. I still can't believe he would throw that away to stay with FMF. Loyalty is great but I'm sure FMF would be happy to see him have success even with another brand. FMF was classy about JGR leaving.

Very DEEP roots. And it's his team, he wants to run it on his own terms. I respect that and so does all of his other sponsors. It will hopefully pay off in the long run.

Ya, if that's what and why, it's admirable but holy hell, I hope it was because FMF was offering the same thing, especially if the other option is it's all done and dusted.

Can we just take a second to applaud the tenacity of ol Mr Albertson and the whole crew along side him? Dude has gotten the raw end of more than his fair share of deals and he keeps plugging away. And he sure seems to keep a pretty kick ass attitude the whole way through.

I think I'm picking up what you're laying down. Ronnie Mac is the cheese in the FMF sandwich.

I just think things happen for a reason. Maybe this keeps Jimmy from expending his energies in pursuit of....I'm not even sure....becoming a.....Mitch Payton? Jeff Majkrzak? Mike Genova? Coy Gibbs?

I think you have to be a guy like that (loaded) to make a private team work. Otherwise you are just going to be scraping to get by, trying not to get screwed by the next promising title sponsor, trying to keep guys on your team (remember the Mitchel Oldenburg scenario?) etc. Jimmy even talked about it in the interview with Matthes, his home life suffered last year due to the stress and workload of trying to run the team. And for what? So he could pit out of a semi?

I don't think losing MS is such a terrible thing in the grand scheme of things.

His loyalty to merge racing is probanly a reason also, some of his instagram and twitter posts have related to that relationship,he and jim have done alot of testing together and he rides at compound 77 all the time which jim is the owner i believe,so to me as far as a factory backed effort he wanted to stay merge not yosh
