Phill gig isn't a bad deal then, I didn't want to see him ride a 250 outdoors.
I was tol that Bogle was given a 'Testing contract" thru Suzuki for two months to get the bike sorted out. Which makes sense, except for the fact of him riding a bone stock bike so far. (That bike came thru Suzuki) I'm sure that RCH has to have parts left over from last year to build a race bike for him, not sure why that hasn't happened yet though.
No idea if Tickle is under the same or not, but I'd imagine so....
Then there's Wilson, who is also currently riding a bone stock Suzuki, but limited info on his deal so far, except that it's a "borrowed" bike. ML seems to have him as a 3rd rider @ RCH, which is something very interesting, considering that there's not enough sponsor money to go racing with two guys, let alone three. This has been an on/off rumor for a few weeks on the message boards, but I'm not sure anyone REALLY knew anything. There's a lot of speculating on here, that's for sure, but there's also a FEW that are usually on it.
I'd love to see all three of them on the team, but I wonder where that leaves Weimer ? I really thought he'd have a testing gig/ fill in rider (if someone gets injured), but there won't be much money for that job, if it's even a thing. Tough deal for all involved.
If RCH doesn't get the funding soon, I could see the riders salaries being effected imensely. Or maybe worse ??
Suzuki has had some shit luck with race teams in general, but they have brought some of it on themselves with bad choices ?
They've already hired mechanics and seem to have the structure ready to go, but without riders with signed contracts, the team isn't going to be able to move forward. I'd love to see them on good bikes soon, even if the details aren't sorted out, they need to be testing soon.
Also, I seem to be missing a Suzuki RM-Z450 from my shop...
Pit Row
I will ask a friend who is a rep down here and see what he knows also. Good for T/R to get i the game if it goes through.
Motorcycle Superstore will not be supporting the Jimmy Albertson team next year. But you will see their logo support on a different yellow team, from what I'm told. Not sure if Jimmy will secure a title sponsor for his team or not, but I hope so, he's always been a good dude and put together a good program last year. Otherwise there will be a couple more riders on the availability list....
Matt Bisceglia's name has been mentioned for one of the 250's, which shouldn't surprise anyone. Bowers will not be on the other bike though.
But I'm not sure that the MotorcycleSuperstore/ Tucker Rocky deal will be enough money to "fix" RCH's financial problem. The riders will be on the losing end of this deal, IMO.
Do you know if Tucker wants to get their name out in Supercross like Parts and WPS have? Or do they just want to get their brands out there? For the longest time, Parts Unlimited was the only distributor who officially sponsored anything and then WPS added their name to a team officially. Seems like that is the new thing.
Just kidding, Superstore already had a partnership with RCH for the 13 outdoors, unlikely they will be supporting them for 16
