It does seem a bit odd. Maybe they decided to go with Bloss because he was a true rookie, and not just a 450 class rookie like Marvin (and Seely last year).

What difference does it make? He's a rookie in the 450 class. He did the best out of all 450 rookies. He is the rookie of the year in the 450 class, period.

Bloss is badass, a 19 year old kid who started out the year as a privateer and ends up 6 in the 450 nationals?

How can that kid NOT win the ROY?
