How did pro circuit get started? I remembered thinking it involved huskies, but I don't remember the details.
Jody advised him to add another tooth to the rear and it all progress from there.

Look theres Jody in that photo!

Bill Keefe, Lance Sallis, Steve Wiseman, Jody, Mitch (and CR the dog), Mike Monaghan and Steve Balmer.

Great times growing up at that shop. The Anaheim Husky shop off Lincoln had a RC track in the parking lot and Naugles across the street was the food of choice. Jeff Jennings was also the topic of shenanigans also. The Anaheim Husky/Pro Circuit shop off LaPalma had many good times too. The Tony D bachelor party was epic and so was the Mike Guerra (now w/Yamaha) was another doozie. I can tell you stories that are so funny and out of this world you would believe it even happened.

Payton is a racer at heart... and still is.

Good Times !

I would do awful things for that Gear combo
Here's the gear story from Laguna Beach Mike (Andy's old wrench and teammate for a bit on 'zuks). I sent him the link and his response is below:

"I worked on that bike. Andy started wearing white when we rode for Victorville Suzuki. He carried the look over to PC. The boots were a hook-up from Paul O'Neal. Andy wound up with an O'Neal apparel deal, which I benefited from. ;-)"

The boots are Hallman, so I am not sure what Paul had to do with it---but I have inquired again.

Bitchin gear set----AJ had/has some style....

That's correct, in 83 we wore Hallman USA boots... in 82 we wore SIDI. 81 was FOX boots. In 83 a lot of us went Japanese. Payton was a little bummed but understood. He knew the Japanese were on a big learning curve forward regarding development and the Sweeds were a bit behind. What he did with Jefferson's bike was amazing. Was fast but if I can recall, the maintenance schedules were pretty hectic. Not as bad as the Craig Dale 125, but Andy's bike was on the ragged edge of development for that bike

Thanks for filling the gaps, anniebertmojo!
I will actually be seeing L.B. Mike this week during a trip to Bentonville. Will be stopping by Mike's shop for some bench racing---his photo collection from 'in the day' is amazing. His memory is even better!
Good times!

That's from a mate of mine. He's a massive Pro Circuit/Mitch Payton and Husqvarna super-fan and loves the history of both companies.
