I wish they would find something more productive to do with the bikes. A public service to teach young kids how to work on them, selling them back to the public, parting them out. . . Anything really other than squashing them. Glad to see the task force having success.

This. Give them to local high schools and colleges with shop classes at the very least.

So there are guys that steal bikes. Get caught. City confiscated them. Takes them to the auction yard. Then the same guys that steal the bikes go to the auction and buy them back. Thats one way they legally own motorcycles they have stolen.

Crush them.

If they're stolen bikes, they've already proven they're not willing to buy the bikes. If they're not reported stolen, then it's on the rightful owner for not reporting it stolen. . . or the bike isn't stolen.

I doubt that the thieves would change their willingness to pay in an auction situation. I have to imagine they're making attempts to return the stolen bikes to the rightful owners. We never really get clarification on that part.

If my bike was insured, stolen by wheelie boyz, then sat out in the weather like that, I wouldn't want it back.

Im looking at countless restoration builds!!!

Notice how most of them have no numbers? Stolen with full graphics, ditch the stickers and its back to a stock bike to try and avoid getting caught.

That Black, early 2000's, KX (#410) has "Spitfire/Pro Circuit Replica" build written all over it!

They go for the lowest offer. No reserves. I went to an auction. They bought some for $20. TWENTY DOLLARS.

I know around here (Boston) they never have auctions. If they do then they certainly aren't public. If anyone knows how to find them I'd love to know

Is it too much to ask for the cops to return them to the people they were stolen from?

If the police don't have owner info,or a police report wasn't filed kinda tough to notify the owner.

If the bikes had back fees or fines, I am sure that they would figure it out.
