I heard in the free practice that he left the track with a blown rear shock. Some people thought it was the motor, but the oil from the shock got on the pipe and there was a lot of smoke.

I imagine his qualifying time suffered because of the lack of practice in the first session.

That's pretty weird, two different shocks (IT9 - Showa, JH75 - KYCool . Shocks must be getting hot!!

I wonder if it is just that the oil capacity is less this year with the new shock. Back in the 80's, Honda did the same thing, when the factory teams still came to Florida in the winter, they had a box full of blown shocks, the kid I was wrenching for at that time blew one, when I took it apart the main shaft seal was completely fried, I fixed that real quick, made a bigger oil reservoir, never blew another one

L&M are running a second reservoir. One is KYB. One is Showa. Same result. Makes you wonder.

JGR is running their own shock absorber, right? Could be a reason why?

i know tedesco's front forks are showa but are you sure his shock isnt kyb? It looks just like the kyb works one? Just wondering that would be weird if he had two different setups.
