Just watched the entire Daytona 450 race

Edited Date/Time 1/26/2012 11:45pm
all the way through for the 1st time. afuggenmazing. WOW! I feel for Reed...I realy do. But like Dave said I am not sure why he was actually going faster and jumping more instead of nursing his lead, either way a great race for the ages.

I don't think it was raining nearly as hard near the end of the race as it was at the beginning...maybe some of the jump faces were better than they'd been earlier in the day.

Gained me as a fan, running himself & his equipmet to the brink of destruction. Seems that he would have been concerned about injury, think, what if the bike locked up on one of those wild trips through the air. He showed grit & the voice of reason didn't play into his plan to decimate the field.

Props to Reed, that was a hell of a race he put on. Too bad it didn't last 2 more turns.

A race for the ages that will go down in the annuals of motocross lore.....

I don't think it was the jumping that was the problem that kept him out of the water. Where he blew it imo is blasting through the one DEEP SINK HOLE (left hander) lap after lap. RC even commented "Oh man if Reed could see what we can with all the stuck riders in there, he would try a different line".

I guarantee you that is where he SUCKED the most water in his engine and the Yamadawg couldn't take no mo... :D

But yes great race, I felt bad for a second, cuz he cheated.... <img class= " title="Laughing">

Yes he is but the BIG-AZZ diamond studded earings gotta go, and he needs to work on his PR skills. For chris sakes he's getting paid a lot of moola, you would think someone could give him some pointers....

RC got better with it and wouldn't be caught dead with those dumb "look at me" earings......

But yes on the track, he's one of the best I hate to say......

Threw that bike on his back and carried it across the line! That's what our grandfather's would have done. Uphill in the snow.

Would have been funny if they started playing "those boots were made for walking" while Reed was exiting the track.

I'll stick with what I said in my post. He convinced himself he allready won the race when there were still 3 - 2 minute laps left, got over excited and started trying to show off.

Because he isn't American.

I think he's ok.

I think he was jumping more that last few laps to stay out of the water longer. Reed is a lot smarter than a lot of you guys give him credit for. Do you honestly think he was trying to show off? The guy gets paid millions of dollars to win races and that's just what he does, nothing more, nothing less.

my theory is he wanted to finish the race asap before the bike blew up. sounds like a traffic cop story but I bet that might be what it was.

X2...looked to me like he was choosing the inside line consistently and taking on the deepest puddles.

I'm not a big Reed fan, but that was a helluva race and he was crushing the field. Hated to see him lose it like that.

I think the last few races he has been banged up, and things have not gone his way pissed him off. I believe he wanted to kill the field to prove that he is head and shoulders above everyone in any conditions. Of course i am a nobody and don't really know what he thinks. Just like everyone else. Oh well speculation turns into a missinterpruted arguments.
