Dungey proves it.....the system is flawed.

so why aren't all the racers racing all classes...like it should be. and btw...there whould be 3 classes. fucking AMA has fucked up more...way more than they have ever helped. they fucked up moto, flat track, road racing and speedway. why they are allowed to even exists blows my big dick away.

Dude get a clue. The lites class is the rookie class. Conard and Izzi are rookies. This is their first year out of the amature ranks. Yes they have beat villo and grant already. So what? This sport is way to small for two Pro classes. Hell there are only 32 riders showing up to qualify for the 450 pro class this year.
In the best interest of the sport give everyone 1 year in the rookie class and move up or get out.

And RC is my hero. He retired prior to his 27th birthday. That is the greatest accomplishment I have ever heard of.[/quote:z1l45aol]

Are you still mouthing that drunken drivel?

The "lites" class isn't a rookie class, no matter how much you try to tell yourself that.[/quote:z1l45aol]

I agree on all of your points, but the Supercross Endorsement rule has also played a part in those empty gates. I don’t think the new rule is a bad one but it’s going to have to be tweaked a bit to ensure that there are no empty gates for next year.

I don't know but I think 10 minute races are just too long for these pussies to race.

I'll second that.
The AMA looks (or at least until recently) looked at it as a development class. Personally, I think it's just another pro class...and one that's often more interesting to watch than the so-called marquee class.

Some riders are just better-suited for the smaller bikes, whether it's because of their stature, or riding style. Also, I'm not all that crazy about an advancement system that's basically a one-way system with a cliff at the end.

once you make the big show it should be all in. the "development" class, or the stepping stone class they should use the pro am races all over the country for that. LL qualifiers and such. Once they make mains in AX and look competitent on a SX track then it's a lock they should be there.

The complaint whcih I heard in meetings as far back as 03 was "we have to many riders showing up", we run qualifiers after qualifiers, its to time consuming. The only reason i was involved in those meetings is that "PRO" wanted to have its influence and "hands" on the pro am process, they didn't want the work, only to make sure thier prodigys made it thru the system without a hiccup....... Hence the rule to this day that stands clear........ you can ride any pro event with a single persons signature from AMA. I dind't particularly like that but they all did. of course.

Now the numbers have dropped some, LOL i thought it would take longer but it didn't. what race was it back years ago they riders from the stands to fill the gate? i heard about it but don't remember which one it was.

The lites class is "meant" to be the stepping stone class to the big show. But because of the way that up and coming riders are training and riding they enter the Pro ranks ready to mix it up with the top riders. There really should be 2 PRO classes, some riders prefer to race the smaller cc bikes, and some the bigger ones. Some riders are better lites riders, look at Tedesco, Langston, Brown, Hughes, Roncada. Stewart was untouchable on the 125!! Really if you want a development class make all 1st year pros race a true 125 class, then you move on to your class of choice. This way you learn the tracks, the way the whole SX deal works etc. on a bike that you truely have to ride the wheels off of to go anywhere, this would allow those great riders to shine and get on the big teams, and so on.
I for one, am a fan of the the old AX style of classes, run the lites class, then hop on your 450 and go do it again. Hell you race 2 motos in MX why not give the fans that pay astronomical amounts of money to go to a SX race their money's worth.....

Oh yeah, riders that should be in SX but are not.
Brock Sellards, Kelly Smith, Danny Smith, Robbie Reynard, Jim Neese, Greg Schneel.

It will never happen, but I agree that's the ideal setup for SX. One group of 40 riders (the best 40!!!) competing in two classes for combined championship points. That would be awesome.

agreed, and with that being said, anyone should also be able to race lites, or SX class, or both without doing lites first.

Ok, when you do it, it's a typo.

I think you will find you are indeed ignorant .

Someone who picks up on the drunken typos of others, which in turn, enables you to ridicule that person in order to fuel you own self-conceit

IMO the Lites class should be a full 16 rounds national championship too and both classes should race twice that in itseflf would make some guys move up- then have a 125 2 stroke class for the top amateurs in the US to ride - East and west kind of like wot the do now with the lites...

I think they should leave things the way they are but add one more main and make the top ten from each class race each other or make the 450 class a stock bike class and privateer only class and put everyone else on 250F's and make teams like P.C. and F.C. and Y.O.T. race in it also and that will be the premeir class.

mxdad, why do you keep referring to it as the 450 PRO class? They usually only use those names at combined amateur / pro events where there could be a 450 Pro division and a 450 amateur division.

I totally agree with you on this subject.
The Lites should be treated as a pro class no doubt about it, in the same way the lites are treated as an individual championship in Europe where some riders spent there entire career on a lites bike if they so wish.

The way they have it going right now the best thing would be to treat the lites class as a rookie class-that means 1st year supercross riders and anybody that finished out of top ten previous year can ride again. Otherwise, the top 10 should move up after 2 years in the class(this also gives the previous year winner a chance to defend his title)-that's it then they have to move up and the Supercross class can be more stacked and more competitive.

You see no shortage of 250f riders at all the races right dave? If they still allowed some of them to ride the 450 class that class would be fine too.

The 250Fs don't cost as much to haul to the races.....
