In the 100 class I was 14 and riding a Suzuki contender . There were like 130 or more 100's racing so there had to be two races just to get to see who was going to get to race that day . I came in 4th and 1-3 was Yamaha and 4-10 was Yamaha and I think even the next few spots.

Is Al still running the place or did Chuck and Lynn take over again?
Harris county ended up with Rio. The place was in very, very bad shape. Danny Erdlejac bought the place from the county and has brought it back to its glory.

Al moved back to Colorado about 10 years ago and passed away about 3 or 4 years ago.

It's hard to remember your favorite track from 40 years ago . They were all my favorite. It was just as exciting at one as it was the other. I raced from the time I was 14 till I was 16 and we raced the smaller races with smaller crowds with less meaning but it was just as exciting to us as the pro races we raced in when we got better bikes and had more exsperiance

Malvern, OH - Great natural track. Had an AMA qualifier there back in 1980. Fun!
Price, UT - Another great natural track. Had a dropoff that felt like 100' back on an 80 (probably only 30 or 40').
Springfield, MO - The famous wood chip track. Well, I liked it...
Lake Whitney, TX - First track I raced my YZ-80C on back in 1976. First 2-stroke race for that matter and took 2nd
in mini expert (Wedding was faaaaast).
Ponca City, OK - Raced the first and second year (78 and 79) once clockwise and once counter. Liked clockwise
better
Agency, MO - Wet or dry is was a great track
