I love those early suzukis
Kind of forshadowing? Eerie?
While standing there looking out and scratching in the sand a family of Dolphins swam very slowly by. Stopping in front of me not 20 yards out. Circling and feeding. Young and old.
I have never seen them so close to shore, normally they are on the sandbar feeding and surfing with us.
Thank you.
I was a little kid when he and Roger were ruling the Moto-World. Joel had style and flow that I still try to mimic to this day. For me, he defines what a "Bad-Ass" or "Cool MoFo" is.
This thread is simply awesome!
Thanks to all.

can't get much better than Belgian Motocross History
These photos, just great, 69 DeCoster, I was there, my first big motocross race that I attended just 1 1/2 hour from my home was at Road Atlanta in 74 where i saw DeCoster win the trans ama ---- that man and that race is what lighted my fire for MX
the Namur photos bring back good memories, I went with a Dutch friend from the USA to Europe in 79
we attended a few GP's , one of which was the Namur race -- DeCoster's last year on Suzuki,
we drove up in the borrowed Peugeut and just drove up to the Citidel, parked along the edge of the street, strolled over onto the park lawn, and put our tent up 4 meters from the track, spend the night and the next morning awoke to some great sounds outside
Man, I wish I could have gone to a race Namur at some point. But I didn't live close to it, like I do now. I really wish they could do another race there... Well, well, tomorrow going to Valkenswaard!
I raced 2 of Artos kids here in Finland when i was 10-15 years old! I remember that my best friends dad and my dad used to party pretty hard with Arto Panttila on the evening before and after the races! Arto dominated the vet class in Finland in about 2000-2010. He was so dominating in 2006 or 2007 that he chose to race his sons KX85 against the big bikes in the Finnish championship Vet class and won!
Arto was and is a bad dude for sure.
My first motocross photo, taken at that race
No other country inspired American motocross as much.
