Congrats on the purchase and whatever it takes to get more ride time for you is cool(bike or wife) haha

I don't mind quads just keep them off moto tracks when bikes are on. A seperate track or different day but whatever they help small tracks stay in business

Nice! My wife rides a 04 yz250 with some tweaks to make it more friendly for her. I like having her ride with us. As for the whole quad hate deal. I started on them. I still love my Banshee but I do understand the hate. I don't spin cookies, wheelie in the parking lots, drink beers or smoke while I am ridding. I wear full gear, hit big jumps and climb big hills really damn fast! My banshee is right close to 100 horsepower, it also has the chassis and suspension to handle it. I have let a lot of my buddies who talk trash ride it.... the most common response is Holy Shit that's fun! I prefer my bikes pretty much everywhere but the quad is damn fun in the dunes and even on a track.

a quad are you serious?? Come on man this is a MOTO forum, you deserve all the flak you're getting. My girl is also technically a "beginner" and even she refused to ride anything other than one of my old 250f's. Ive just been teaching her technique and she practices alot and she rides all the tracks with me, albeit much slower, and has the time of her life. And even she hates on the 4 wheel couch machines. Doesn't matter whether its the baddest banshee or raptor, it still has 4 wheels and a big ol couch cushion and is meant for those who are too soft or unskilled enough to ride a bike. Get her off that immediately and at the very least onto a Honda trail bike... if your girl is able to ride a pedal bicycle then she can ride a MX bike and there is noooo need for you to have her riding that shitty couch. Unless she's a whale and like 300lbs...

-People busted on him, in good fun, since when did everyone start wearing panties and get so sensitive, most of us dislike quads for a lot of reasons, which is our own opinion but OP was asking for a few pokes posting in a MOTO FORUM with AVID dirt bike riders about his quad

-Off topic but have to agree, most quad riders put bad taste in people mouths, from popping wheelies down the street with a beer and no helmet, to blatant unsafe riding, destroying tracks, etc., its just the mentality and stereotype that happens to make up a lot of quad guys, there is a reason for the dislike.

I have 4 bikes, the banshee, and a big fast truck (compensating)! I prefer my bikes anyday of the wk. I also hate it when I see bozos on utvs, quads and dirt bikes. You're right its moto forum.... I'll leave it at that.

Dude STFU! His wife can ride whatever the fuck she wants! My wife rides a quad when we go to the dunes. Let's see how good your bitch can handle your clapped out 250f in the sand. Botn my daughters ride dirt bikes and quads. Is that going to be a problem? Guess I should of ran it by you first. What I do know is my 12yr old daughter can ride the fuck out of her CR85. But it dosent bother me when she rides her 250R.

I had bought a raptor 350 for cruising around the pits at my cross country races after I race. After an hour and a half racing on the dirt bike, I didn't want to sit on the dirt bike any more. Really liked the power of the 350. I had it a year and didn't have any problems with it.

I don't get all the fuss with quads. I don't like racing/riding on tracks that allow quads but I don't have any animosity against them. I like to think some of the guys were just giving ketch a hard time in good jest but it's pretty clear some are not.

Try checking with your local atv shops, when I had my shop I always had new and near new take offs. Most atvers don't keep the stock wheels and tires.

Im now retired from 2 wheels. Researching side by sides. I tell you what, those new ones are fun and I used to be a serious quad hater. Thinking about the Polaris General as a do it all machine. BUT...havent ruled out the RZR1000.

Still don't think 4 wheels belong on an MX track with the 2 wheelers though.

I respect those who respect me. I've changed many a bike rider's mind about quads by going out and straight up beating them on the track, and i guarantee I'd do the same to you bud. Unsafe? I'm smoother around an MX track than 90% of bike guys, and unlike many of you, I hold my line.


Reaffirming stereotypes how exactly? I'm a guy who has grown up loving all things motorports related, and now manage a sales department at a respected dealership. I ride everything from crotch rockets to dual sports, Quads, UTVs, snow bikes and yes, dirt bikes.

I'm also a huge supporter of the sport of motocross. Helping young riders of both 2 and 4 wheeled machines get connected with sponsors and learn how to ride. Just because when I go to the race track my usual weapon of choice is a highly modified, pro level ATV you all of a sudden have the right to condemn me as a dangerous rider? Get your head out of your ass.

I'm on this forum because I am a fan of the sport of motocross, and because for 11 years I have been spending my summers on motocross tracks all over Canada and the US. I have just as much right to be here as you do, so kindly go fuck yourself.

Doesn't matter whether its the baddest banshee or raptor, it still has 4 wheels and a big ol couch cushion and is meant for those who are too soft or unskilled enough to ride a bike. Get her off that immediately and at the very least onto a Honda trail bike... if your girl is able to ride a pedal bicycle then she can ride a MX bike and there is noooo need for you to have her riding that shitty couch. Unless she's a whale and like 300lbs...

My girl is also technically a "beginner" and even she refused to ride anything other than one of my old 250f's. Ive just been teaching her technique and she practices alot and she rides all the tracks with me, albeit much slower, and has the time of her life. And even she hates on the 4 wheel couch machines. We spent 400 dollars at Chaparral yesterday, supporting companies like Fly, Fox, O'Neal, VP, and Maxima. We wouldn't have given money to the sport I'd we hadn't bought a quad for her.
