It never seems to get any kind of attention except in the hands of Dungey. Anyone got one?

Undersprung they say? But what does that mean? If you get a good deal why not? If you don't like it after some laps, you can trade it against my CRF (from 05)! Smile

It is seriously undersprung for someone who isn't a mini rider. Bottoms regularly and dives easily for anyone over 150lbs. Ride one and see.

Well I only weigh a buck-fifty an I love how it rides. You other porkers need to STFU and buy some fat-boy springs.

Yes, very underrated.

I had a 08 it handle good but the motor was Slow IMO. had a lot of bottom but no top end you had to short shift everywhere.

I'd say very underrated as well. My son is maybe 140lbs, wet, and we used lighter springs than stock.

How many people actually buy a bike, race and don't get the proper springs...well, never mind!

Seriously, we have well over 100 hours on our '07. Three top ends and zero valve adjustments. They still are within spec. So far, probably the most dependable bike we've ever had.

Funy, their two strokes where the same, good bottom end/mid range, not much up top, had to short shift.

My son put 75 hours on his 07 and other than shattering some clutch plates until Suzuki came up with a fix mid 07 for that, the bike was stone reliable. 2 top ends and none of the valves had moved at 75 hours when he traded it on his 09 KX250F.

He weighs 175lbs and his skill level would be top of the C class or bottom of the B class at a local level and he found the bike soft in stock trim. After Jeremy Wilkey at MX-Tech got done revalving the bike the stock springs were fine.

My boys like their suspension soft.

Older boy rides in the A class 160lbs and it was too soft stock...Still able to ride it.

Younger boy rides B class 120lbs and it was fine stock.

We had the suspension done for both boys after the break in of the bikes.

The power falls off on top. We put high compression pistons in and RHC cams. The 07's went over 70 hours with no valve adjustments and still in spec. The 08's are around 35 and 45 hours with top ends being changed around 15 hours...No valve issues or clutch issues....The top end falling flat was cured by cams.

Buy new and pick the bike that appeals to you and get it. All 250f's are the same. They are ticking time bombs.

I wouldn't mind it looks good, reminds of the first RM80 I first rode an 82! I believe if a bike handles well, then the power issues can be fixed!

it's a lot easier to make a slow bike faster (rmz) than a crappy-handling bike turn well (yzf). My rmz250 turns as well, or better than my brother's yz125.

i love my 07 70 hrs on it 2 seasons of beatings riding lower b level ...did 1 piston 1 clutch and never had to adjust the valves.....ever.....stilll 5 thosandths on intakes and 8 on ex.....bike handles killer and i redid the suspesion with race tech stuff ...the bottoming issue is more a problem with valving then anything the stiff spring fix from mxa is a band aid to fix the too soft valving that lets the fork blow thru the stroke too easily im 165 in gear and the suspension is great after some tweaks .......best bike ive had so far hands down

i still have the 144 and i finally have it jetted right and the suspension setup the way i like it.

but the peso took a dump from 11.00 peseos per dollar to 13.50 or so meaning the bikes are going to be 20 to 30 % more expensive and we were already paying 8000 usd for a bike. so when my buddy who happens to own a suzuki dealership called me saying this was the last 2009 that would be priced as a 2008 i jumped at it. ended up paying around 6500 usd for it after the new exchange rate.

so this was my way of beating the financial crisis. btw how can i post a pic of my bike so that it can be seen in this thread?

so now i have a 04 rm 144 that is mint and worthless in the market and rmz 250 that has been used for 1.5 hours.
