Studied his way through the tough Dutch university system to actually become a dentist
and
then became a professional MX racer, known best for his days as a member of the powerful team Suzuki - team mate of Roger DeCoster, winning the brutal Carlsbad GP over and over while American racers actually from the So Cal desert were having trouble even finishing the 45 minute motos.

What a guy,,,, I just loved his helmet design....

Noticed his quick and ultra brief interview on Supercrossonline and wondered if it is viewable anywhere ???

He is looking quite good for a 70 year old, I must say.

Remember this one?

yep, I remember that tooth !

I suggested to Steve Matthes that he get Wolsink on his show.

DeCoster and Wolsink on the Pulp show at the same time.

That would be ------- super !

You can usually view the archived Raceday Live shows online at supercrosslive.com a few days after the event.
If you can wait until Friday I'll post a link to Gerrits interview on our site at www.legendsandheroestour.org

If you haven't seen Spetters, its one of the best MX movies, based on Wolsink.

If you want to see one of the worst MX movies, it features NetMXer's avatar, The Dirt Bike Kid.

Name any motorcycle themed movie, I've seen them all.

The good doctor was a badass on a scooter---believe that! I wore JT boots (the originals) only because he did.

Farleigh Castle.
That was my first thought but the hill looks a little steep, Farleigh is steep in the trees but the grass slope is not that sharp of a climb at the bottom, it could be Doddington park?

The two huge Baja lights on that little YZ80 are a nice touch.

Yep "King of Carlsbad" is the truth!

It was so incredible that a rider who grew up on deep sand tracks would learn to ride the hard packed adobe clay that was like concrete so freaken good but "The Flying Dentist" was the man.

Here's a good read from my So Cal race buddy Zap and the day Bengt Abergs bike broke down in front of us and I called him over for a cup of Heineken and the crown went crazy! Woohoo
