Lmao... as of last saturday it can... Manufacturer error in the cases caused ours to almost explode. Luckily we caught it. Not even a month old.

CRF wins the test, and are the most popular (according to MXA). Yamaha seems the most reliable, Suzuki, Kawasaki and KTM are for sure good bikes as well. I would go for what bike you think looks the fastest, or makes you feel good while sitting on it or whatever.

Buying a dirtbike, riding it on a track with artificial obsticles (that are not supposed to be too rough) is so brain dead, that apply common sense to any of this is, is actually kind of retarded.

I have used my favorite rides as guide, and aimed to build a replica their material.

Go with your emotions, or your wallet. Smile

i've had 2 crf250s regular maintenance and i haven't had trouble with the valves at all. i had them changed on my 06 when i did a whole engine overhaul but it had over 100 hours on it and they still looked fine.

Always bet on red! You will like your parts bill with them the best.

Right now I'm thinking of the KTM 200exc or SX150...4 bangers are a bitch to start hot, have too many parts the fukup and weight as much as a boat anchor.

I like all bikes two stroke and four stroke, the SX150 would be a excellent choice if you're not too fat.Smile

The 150SX/144SX is a fast little fuker. and its really light. Feels like a 125 and has more power than a 250F. My son does well on it.

With that said..... I vote for a 4 stroke... power everywhere, smooth and linear. And the new models are Not much heavier than a 2 stroke

I dont want to be screaming a 250F just to keep pace, while all the time thinking of the cost of a revalve job later, not to mention the down time.

150 is getting the nod so far.

If you go for the KTM...make sure its the 09 150SX.
We had some serious nightmares with the 08 144..... but KTM DID step up to the plate and completly built an updated 09 engine for us at no charge to me.
No problems so far with the newer set up.

I really believe all the bikes are good, its a matter of getting it set up for the racer, just doing the little thing for the racers comfort will make any of them winners.

Its a serious consideration...I always hate the red suspenion, it 's never right and needs constant attention, usually professional attention. The only Honda I really liked was when I rode for XR's only, the 280 was really great fun, the suspension was totally dialed. To replicate that on a stocker wuld cost too many dollars for my enjoyment.

I do know the Aussie factory kwaka mechanic, I have toyed with the idea he set a kawi up for me.
