Coy has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer of the the JGR nascar program. Supposedly will still be heavily involved in the MX side. Should be interesting to see how that works out.

makes me wonder if JGR is maybe scaling back, with the factory Yamaha effort coming back and, the "Cooper Webb" signing...maybe they are loosing interest.

I can see JGR staying in, at a development team role for the new factory effort. IF they stay on Yamaha. I can see it shutting the doors if they dont make it happen with Yamaha after Barcias contract is up.

I feel like this maybe could be a sign of how things have ended up with Webbs future and JGR will stay around as a development/support team....

But I also feel like J-Bone has probably ran most the show since day 1 and will continue and everything will go on as normal. I picked this scenario over the first.

Coy's brother JD has been running the NASCAR teams. JD has some health issues so it looks like Coy will be stepping in. I do not see JGR leaving MX.

Finally, someone with some common sense! Coy has always let it be known that MX is his true passion. I can't help but think that this will be much better for the MX team. With Coy overseeing both sides, gaining sponsorship and utilizing resources from the NASCAR shop will only get better!

I take it you're not familiar with Sears Point or Watkins Glenn? There are both left and right turns at those tracks...

Interestingly enough that J.D'. Gibbs' health issues stem from to many hits to the head suffered in part to his college football days. The move with Coy to the NASCAR operations will have no ramifications on the MX side of things. Multiple NASCAR reports have reported that this morning. J.D. also has a cameo in the movie WarRoom. Pretty cool.
