Where was this race located? I'm about an hour north of KC and would love to hit up one of these this summer.

It was through forward motion (fmhsc.com) at Merwin. I think that the big springs race (near topeka) will be that way this year plus probably merwin again. It was a lot of fun, but I had a hard time figuring out how hard to go. I am used to 2 hour races so going hard for 45 mins, then sitting for an hour, then racing again was not easy for my body to get going again the second race. It was nice to have a change of pace though and the turnout was huge.

I haven't raced any but I've seen a few videos of them and I agree. These should be everywhere.

Agreed!!!! Please bring these to Southern California!! I'm sick of these "outdoor tracks" with supercross faces on every jump.

I think they have these GP series in southern indiana also. We had a few in Michigan at a Ski resort up and down the ski hills. It was probably the most fun I have ever had racing a bike.

Yeah that seems like you're just asking for a major issue at the first race, I certainly hope not.

I think the OP knows a thing or two about marketing races....

was an awesome first season glad to see a second location added this year. I only made it to one round but everyone I talked to loved it each and every time.
real curious to see what the layout will look like at Village Creek.

There's a group putting on similar type events / riding in Northern Cal.
Nor-Cal Original MX

They ride at 408MX in San Jose and Marysville MX.

Sounds some what similar to the gp's ran in south east Ohio. Tracks like fast traxx, wildwood lake raceway, and action sports promotion seem to put on great events. The only differences are probably the fact that the tracks are longer and each race is an hour. By far my favorite type of racing.

You guys come here often? Seriously it made my day to know I'm not the only one who feels this way.

I challenge any fans of these tracks to spend a day racing with REM. If you want to race true motocross REM is the program and contrary to some folks perception there are jumps.

This sounds like so much fun. It might be just the thing to bring back riders and fill the gates.

A road trip to either REM or a Scramblecross may be in order this summer... if I had access to this sort of thing, then motivation would never be a question.

Love the series! Glad it made it through the first year!
I can't seem to get the discount code to work for our supercross tickets....any idea why?

You know the sport is ready for something different when venues are honestly marketing their events based on ambulance usage. Laughing

I think this format takes care of one of the complaints about motocross racing, not enough seat time on race day. You go two 45 minute moto's you will feel like you got enough seat time. As a track owner this is one concept that brings the MX guys together with the Woods guys to create a bigger event. I see the concept taking off.

To be clear.....not speaking for or about Pat in any way. Not sure about anything he might be working on.

GLGP was a great event and I was happy to have helped out (and happier to have raced it). Sad to see that go but the concept lives on.
