hi guys. i need someones help immediately. i am 5'7'' 145lbs and 15.5yo right now. i ONLY ride at tracks, and i plan to start racing after being comfortable with my new bike. i ride a 2008 yz85 big wheel with aftermarket exhaust on it and i am really big for it and need much more power. i ride for several years. i am looking to buy a new kx250f, sx-f250 or sx150 in a month. as you know, ktm has reduced the weight a lot on sx-f250 its just 220 pounds (98kg). i have a semi muscular body type. sorry for bad english, its not my main language. please help me, i will be replying you guys for several days.
NOTE: i will not buy any other bike at least for 4 years.

A. Unless you race consistently and plan to get bikes EVERY year, new is almost never the way to go, especially at your age.
B. I'll do mom and dad a favor here and recommend buying a used 150sx, somewhere in the 13-15 year range. They can be had for easily under 3k (at least in my area)
C. You will be faster and better for racing a 2 stroke than a 4 stroke.

I had a YZ250F (2014, 2015, 2016), recently picked up a 2016 YZ125 I loved it so much that I sold my 250F. I'm 5'11, 155 and C, old rider. Just my 2 cents. I buy new cause I can afford it but its far from necessary or smart, as some one else put it, look for a used 2 stroke, then when you get better, faster, etc. maybe a new 250f. GLWS

Didn't you start another post on the same subject? Stated you wanted to race MX2 in Turkey, or something. If you are moving up from an 85, I would do a 125-150 2 stroke as a stepping stone. A 250 4t is a lot heavier, and a lot more mass. A 125 will make you way faster. Unless you are sponsored, a 4T is gonna cost you.

You need to ride both and see what you feel comfortable on. What is your budget and ability for maintaining the bike?

The most fun you'll ever have on a dirt bike come from riding a 125 or 150. I wouldn't make the mistake of skipping to a 250f... They're easier to ride, but no where near as fun. Not to mention the 250fs are more expensive all around.

LOL If only you were around when i was younger man, would of saved me a lot of money downtime and probably a lot of time in the shop.

Get a used 06+ YZ125. Buy the restyle kit for it. Get some other maintenance items to make it legit. Ride and learn how a big bike rides, feels etc. Then sell it in 2 years and get a 250f or 450. 125 is the perfect stepping stone and skipping it does more harm than many realize. If you can ride a 125 fast you can ride anything fast.

A well maintained two stroke will probably last three or four years if you race, and will still have decent resale value. A four stroke, even if it lasts three or four years, won't have anywhere near the resale value of a good two stroke for the most part. Just my opinion, but in my area people lists the same four strokes for months and years without a sale, while 2 strokes start bidding wars among people wanting to buy them.

If you want brand new, the '16 150sx is hard to beat. I'm loving mine, even after coming off a 450.
If you're looking at used bikes, the '06+ yz125 is almost a no brainer. Can be had cheap, great suspension, proven package. What's not to love?
