Man reading this thread sucks! Takes big balls and a small brain to step inside a hauler like that and rob it blind. I sure hope they get caught. It also seems like most of the theft comes from the California area for some reason. Not sure why that is.

From the looks of thing lately, California is looking a lot more like the new DC. This is never going to stop until police start giving a shit and actually going after these guys. I will get hate for this which I won't reply to, but this is 2016, criminals are the new victims and we all know who to thank. If you guys value your stuff, button things up a shit-ton tighter and take a different approach to security.

I am blown away criminals would break into a freaking hauler... Wow, balls. So much of that stuff, they won't be able to sell even if they wanted to. I hope you guys in CA sniff out something and bring these fuckers (and their friends) to the ground.
Cant blame the police. Blame the courts for letting repeat offenders out. The criminals have no fear in the court systems. Depending on the area ,if its a high crima area, dirt bikes, parts, are at the bottom of the priority ladder. , it sucks. But its facts.

Horrible for the team, to have so much stolen that has such high value to the team- yet will have little "value" to the thieves who stole it.

Huge blow to the team, yet the morons who stole it won't be able to do shit with it so it was nearly worthless to them.

No "resale" value, what kind of market exists for such niche items where the target market also likely knows where the stolen items came from? No one is dumb enough to put any of those parts on their bike given the exotic one off nature, so what the hell are the thieves going to do with the parts? Nothing.

Completely screwed BTO, and themselves, in one stupid move. Morans. Probably just meth head losers who have no idea what they were even stealing.
What a kick in the nuts. Off topic but still in the thief neighborhood of things. Does anyone remember when Honda was racing Downhill mountain bikes and built a one off nothing like it bike. It had a transmission in the frame. Pretty much looked like a scaled down cr. Some dip shit stole that and I always thought the same thing. What would you do with that. You can't ride it. You can't sell it. Always wondered if it ever popped back up and they got it back.

Back on topic, I really hope this works out for BTO and who ever is involved gets royally fucked.

Jackiej, your a dip shit and anyone that can help would probably tell them to keep the money. It's not about that. Show some respect douche bag.

I was on the fence about doing the VIP experience the BTO sports team offers but now I'll definitely do it. Hopefully the $750 will go towards helping the team.

Oh shit not another parts issue for Davie?
I'd forgo the $2500 reward to have these cockbreath scums bashed.
Blame the courts and lawyers not the police the police do a great job like someone said before in this thread.

Shocking. I just hope they can either get it back or get it covered somehow and that it doesn't effect their ability to go racing too much. I hate thieves, scum of the earth

Until people wake up to the fact that the days of leaving high value stuff anywhere unattended are over, this will keep happening.

Most of the paddock here now travel in unmarked unbranded campers and vans for precisely this reason... open trailers and pick ups are a thing of the past.

Lock it or lose it.

I thought cr250rider was trying to be rational. 10% seems like more than enough to me. Are you sure you read his response right boss man? I think he was calling jackhole out IMO.

Fucking thieves.
+1

I wonder what impact cutting off thieves' left hand would have on thefts?

I know that hindsight is 20/20, but motion sensing trail cameras are cheap. I have a couple of them myself. Although they won't keep your stuff from being stolen, you will see exactly who you need to hunt down. Or, you can turn the pictures over to the cops.

Yep and every time the cops do act, they are demonized. As long as we have the current leadership(types), this will continue.

Are we at a point where teams and or feld need to be providing security guards for the trucks and lots at races and hotels where riders stay? even privateers honestly deserve some form of " protection. " if they're coming to races in pick ups, box vans and trailers...

where did this happen? race shop?
Murrieta and Anaheim are two different places so I am guessing this was the race shop.

Can't blame the police really for not caring. Cops can do no right now. The media has turned them into the bad guys and made the bad guys the victims.

I have a feeling the morans that did this will get caught. Stealing easily identifiable items with a limited market was not smart. Start with So Cal e-bay and Criagslist then spread the word among the race communtity and find these guys.

My comments about police not doing anything, that is from a top-down perspective. I know their hands are tied, we have leadership to thank for that.

The fact that criminals are this enabled is amazing, and really freaking sad the direction we are headed.

That sucks, and you know stuff like this will happen more often, criminals have rights ya know (sarcasm). Goes in hand with entitlements, you worked for it, but I want it more then you, so I will just take it, people that can afford this stuff just got their money by taking advantage of me anyways.

Gutted for the team. That's horrible.

That being said, I have a feeling most of these parts will find their way out of the country.

If these guys didn't steal bikes doesn't that make it seem like they have some knowledge of moto? Or are the parts easier to get across the border?

There were two of them stolen from a team vehicle in 2005. The gearbox was so secretive that the Honda mechanics used to seperate the gearboxes from the rest of the bike and keep them with them in their hotel room etc. The two stolen bikes were then obviously beyond useless without the gearboxes, not least because they acted as part of the frame. One of them popped up on ebay in 2009 and obviously people instantly recognised it and I think the police managed to recover it.

Blame the courts and lawyers not the police the police do a great job like someone said before in this thread.
"Blame the courts and lawyers..."
You are seriously misinformed. I have been counsel at both tables (DA and defense)----and served on the bench. A DA has discretion, but it is not unfettered. As a Judge, there are endless sentencing guidelines, etc that must be followed exactly----lest you lose the case on appeal. Winning any way you can is great for a politician/DA and it may get you on a federal bench or otherwise. But, for a tenured DA like me----it was more about ensuring the defendant got hammered in a manner that would stick on appeal.

If you want to point at lawyers and "the courts", then bring some of your first-hand experiences to the table. Otherwise, you really do not have a fucking clue what you are spouting off about.

Now, while on the subject of leveling the finger of blame towards a responsible party, I suggest you look to those parties who write the laws rather than those who's powers and authorities are limited by those same laws.

True. Guidelines, lawmakers. will determine alot of things. , point taken , $$ decides alot of court decisions too lol. I was saying repeat offenders are named that for a reason. Basically they say FU to the laws and courts , there needs to be a fear factor . imo.
